Following the main entrance to the right, you see the main amphitheatre. It is a large cavern that reaches three stories tall inside the mountain. On one side are ledges ranging from "second" to "third" story height. A few columns run through the cavern, formed by stalactites and stalagmites that have grown over the centuries. At the end of the hall is a river inlet, where the underground river flows in and then back under the rocks. The floor slopes down to it, providing fresh water to drink.Nightrunners often meet and talk here. This is where food is brought, and they feed in rank order. Meetings are also held here, as well as some classes for the kits. ...more to come as I update the thread...

Xerxes lay on one of the uppermost ledges, simply listening to those below him, observing those lower than himself, making sure that none of them were plotting against him. It would be utterly stupid to challenge him, but youths these days were stupid creatures, so he had to keep an eye on them.

Chaos the queen of Damphousse watched Xerxes watch the younglings. As for right now the only kit she was really instressed in was the young female kit she was going to be the queens princess in training. She didn't know if she was going to fully make the female her priness to take over yet but she looked like a good chioce for now.

Adurna walked around the cave, exploring but beening sure to stay a good distance away from teh Alpha and Queen's barracks. Turning to her left farther in she came to a underground river. She decided she could have a quick bath before flying some to strech her wings. So she carefully entered the water. After she finished came out and shook herself off.
She then walked to a bigger part of the cave and started to fly around, working on having her wings grow stronger.

The queen walked over to Xerxes. Chaos looked about in the cave but only 10 feet away from the alpha.

Adurna continued to fly. She was having so much fun. Her wings flapped as the area in that cave was just big enough for her at this age.
She grew tired and landed. She walked over to where the fresh water was and bent down to take a drink.

The queen waited for the alpha's reply. She heard flapping noises in the cave but waited to the alpha to reply.

He wondered what the Queen wanted with the female kit--no, he should start thinking of her as Princess--but he was below the Queen in rank, and so he could not ask her.
Most times this rank system worked in his favor, since he was the highest ranking Damphousse, save the Queen, and now the Princess, but it was times like these that he couldn't help but resent the fact that the Queen was higher just because she was a female.

Chaos nodded and watched the Alpha's face. She left to go get the female kit. She didn't think of her as a full princess yet but she would if the female did good in training.

Adurna heard the sound of one behind ehr. She licked her lips and turned to face them. Seeing the queen she gave a deep bow.

Xerxes didn't want to think about "stepping down". He was young, and strong, and healthy, and he would be staying Alpha until someone even stronger came along to take the position.
He wondered if the Queen had said that just to annoy him, so she would have an excuse to replace him. Had he done something wrong? Had he not performed to her expectations? Did she simply not like him? The last reason was stupid, though. As the strongest, he would father the strongest kits with her, thus making the Damphousse race even more superior to those stupid little fuzzballs who called themselves Koivou. Or had she already found someone who she knew to be stronger than him? Was he going to have to worry about someone challenging him? He didn't want to fight, not today. Today was simply for observing, lazing around on his ledge, and doing nothing, not fighting some stupid upstart who thought himself better than Xerxes.
He ruffled his wings in annoyance once the Queen was gone. If she had been anyone else, he would have challenged them for daring to speak to him like that, but she outranked him, so he simply had to lie there, fuming, and do nothing.

Chaos hoped that the Alpha was confused about what she said but knew he would think that I had found a better and stronger alpha but that was not true under anything. She could not find a better Alpha atleast not now. She wanted him to start training a male to take under his wing.

Adurna looked at teh Queen. What an honor. She thought. She took a couple breaths to calm herself some. She bowed again and looked at the Queen, her eyes gave away the fact she was excited. Otherwise she seemed normal.

Chaos smiled. I am glad that she said yes for if she didn't then I would have to find a new female that I liked. The last part she mumbled to her self.

And what was with that part about taking a male "under his wing"? If the male was strong enough to be an Alpha, what training did he need? He should know how to keep the Damphousse under control, but anyone knew how to keep those under them in control, or they were demoted, so what special training did an Alpha need? Oh, there was the problem of dealing with females, but that was something that if you weren't born with, you couldn't learn. Either you knew how to deal with the oddities of the females, or you got demoted again. It was that simple. He didn't know why Queens and Princesses wolud need special training, either, but that was a female thing, and not his place. Who knew, maybe laying eggs all day was harder than he thought. There had to be something he wasn't aware of, since the Queen was taking such interest in one so young.
It didn't matter, though. What the Queen involved herself in wasn't his concern. What was his concern was the fact that the Queen might've found a replacement Alpha for him, when he didn't even know what he had done to her!
