"Drop Trade" Scams

NEVER EVER deal with anyone in a drop trade. What is it for some of you asking?

Drop Trade - To drop gold and items to trade items that's not tradeable without using the trade window.

Never try to force a trade with an untradeable item! There's a reason why it's untradeable. And drop trades greatly leaves you open to a scam. Someone can easily run up to your items and take it and run away.

Pro Tip # 17: Lag and You

Lag, the one thing despised by every player of Runescape. Now, some of you may be asking, "What is Lag?" Well, lets start ith the basics.

Lag is when you tell your character to do something and the game takes a while to respond. There is no way to completely elimnate lag, but playing on reccomended worlds and having a faster internet connection will help reduce it.

Fast lag occurs when you play on low detail, and your computer and internet connection are good enough for high detail. Your character will stop at each step, but continue immediatly. This can be fixed by switching to high detail.

Now that you know what Lag is, it is time you learn how to deal safely with lag. Here are a few general rules.
1) Do not get violent! The lag will stop eventually!
2) Do not close the window! Some players think this will log you out. It won't. Your character will still be there, even if your not. Always use the log out button to safely log out. If not, you put yourself at risk rom nearby monsters and random events.
3) Don't panic! If you are fighting something while lagging, clicking repeatedly does not help the action get done sooner.
4) Correctly logging out and back in will end lag most of the time.

When encountering lag while fighting an especially tough monster, it is important to reamin calm. Here are some steps to help prevent lag related death.
1) As soon as lag starts, activate your protection prayer if you have them and are not already using them.
2) Click on one or two peices of food in your inventory. Only click them ONCE.
3) If you fear you are going to die turn on your protect item prayer. Please note that depending on when lag stops, this may not work.
4) Log out as soon as possible to end the lag, even if you have to flee the battle. Logging in again right after should put an end to the lag.

With the server update, Jagex has cut down on lag, but it is still out there, especially in crowded areas! Be sure to keep yourself safe from lag and monsters. Happy gaming!
