This rant is all about the entertainment industry of today-specifically the music industry. I've been saying for years that the industry's focusing to much on hip hop and pop music and neglecting rock and other forms of music that aren't as controlled by society. Now record sales for the year have dropped to less than 60 million and the industry's freaking out. I say it's high time metal took it's rightful place at the forefront of the music scene; and that musicans start acting like the artists they should be and actually write/play/sing some f***ing music instead of letting professional songwriters and mixing machines do it for them. I'm thinking if the quality of the music improves, the quantity of albums sold will improve also. What do you think?

Rock is no more independent than Hip Hop. In fact, there is alot of very independent Hip Hop that is really intellectual, spiritual, and musically facinating.
People who usually say things like "My music should be more listened to because it would be better for ______" usually simply havn't taken the time to listen to other forms of music with an open mind.
Seriously, I hear more industry factory bullshit rock than I do hip hop. There is a reason for that. I listen to alot more rock than I do hip hop.
The music industry is going to keep on pumping out factory made money based music, it is what the industry has always done. Endorsing more metal (which isn't really a top seller in the markets) seems like a bad idea. Its music for a smaller society, which means a smaller consumer base, which means less people to buy your product.
