On of the reasons as to why I went MIA is because people weren't interactive and when they were, they just disappeared into the abyss, making it very hard to continue the roleplay. I can't think of any way as to getting people to stay active without turning into a present day Hitler, but I'm sure that it'd keep the Guild active. I really like this guild and I'm glad it's back in action. I hope you can figure out what to do! Until then, I shall be lurking in corners smile

IrksomeCat Slayer, I was thinking that since the forums look so...huge, I guess, that it is intimidating people from joining the RPs. o: I agree. I stopped posting mainly because I had no idea what was going on or where I should go. Also, and I don't mean to be rude, I think there should be some sort of literacy level required, and stronger regulations against mary sues. Perhaps it got better after I left, but I was getting slightly annoyed...and I find it hard to give long replies without being given anything to work with. ((Sorry if any of you were some of the people this applies to, I mean no offense.))

That's true. Mary Sues are rampant and it does getting annoying. I'm not so sure about the literacy level, though. I want everybody to be able to post here. I do, however, expect everybody to try their best when it comes to being legible. I guess if it gets to the point where nobody can understand what a person is saying, we can send a warning.

Can we at least make a minimum post requirement? Even three sentences would be better than the plethora of one-liners we have (or had).

Sues are definitely difficult, but submitted profiles have to be accepted before roleplay use for a reason. Mods can tell a user "no" and tell them what needs to be fixed for it to be accepted, and provide a few examples of how. We could also develop guidelines for making sure a character isn't a Sue, such as the Mary-Sue Litmus test here (though perhaps less lengthy).

As far as getting members to participate and have characters interact with each other, perhaps we could plan regular events to bring the characters together. Example: Once a month, Hogwarts has a house competition and characters are divided into teams; Every 2 weeks, Dagworth Asylumn's characters are gathered and paired up for a relay race, every so often interchangeable with a misc. plot event where, say, someone goes missing or conflicting files are discovered.

The Sweet Irony Shape Shifters RP: No posts in 2012.
Normal World RP: This DOES have posts dating this year, but only four of them, by three posters, and only two posts involve the characters interacting.
New World: No posts in 2012.
Crew Lounge: Um, there aren't any posts in there from this year, but I'm not sure that counts in the cleanup since it's not a roleplay.
Artemis' Huntresses: This has no posts in 2012, but I think it's part of Camp Half Blood. Does it stay?
Hogsmeade: This has exactly one post. It hasn't been used in this year, but it's part of Hogwarts. Does it stay?
Capture the Flag RP: This is technically part of Camp Half Blood, but it's definitely not open and it doesn't look like it was ever really used. Should this be closed down? Re-structured? I forgot to list Carmel-Dagworth Village RP. It does say Under Construction, but there are no topics in it.

Two more suggestions:
First, while the games are lovely, as this is a rp guild, perhaps we should be focusing more on fixing the rps?
Second, as so many people have left, perhaps the rps should be started from the beginning again, so we don't have either people stuck waiting for others, or unnecessary and confusing posts clogging everything?

I gotta say, I do like the restart suggestion. I'll send an Announcement and start a thread to see if people want to do that.
I see nothing wrong with Irony putting up a few games while we figure out what to do.
I'll get with the crew members and VC to see about new profile guidelines.
I'm going to think about the minimum post requirement.

I'm just worried that people will be distracted by them and forget the issue at hand.

((Btw, this is IrksomeCat. I'm on my friend's account right now and was on it yesterday. XD ))
Hey, as long as it is bringing people's attention to the guild, it's a good thing. :3

So, now that (as I predicted) no one's said anything here in a while, and you've gotten your gaming out....
What are we going to do?

Don't be a smartass. DX
Well, nobody has protested the re-start, so I'm thinking we are going to go through with that. However, I'd like to do it after we get the profile guidelines figured out. In the meantime, I will be deciding whether or not we will restart all of the RPs.
