Jungle Boots the more the merrier... it would be pretty cool if we had different artists for it... i know ill be making some one liner strips. maybe some mock posters. general cool looking s**t. Yeah, the more comics and posts, the better! There doesn't have to be only one comic. Today I worked a bit on the About page and added some features to the site like those "share" button things and some helpful stuff on the sidebar. It would be cool if we could elaborate on the About page about us all individually when we have some regular people contributing to the blog and stuff. I was going to mess around with some off the layout/css stuff, but apparently on Wordpress.com blogs, you can't really change stuff if you have a free account. :/

well ill see how much an upgrade costs per month if it isnt just a down payment once things get rolling and the blog looks like its worth while to spill money into...
we can create a custom one... but i dont know ccs at all... i dont know html either.... :l
anyway... yeah... ill contribute some stuff in the about section.
and the Last.fm group is up.... link is in the OP
I added some post categories, added links to the last.fm, the guild, and jiggly's paulrevere.com comic.
WE ARE NO LONGER JUST A GAIA GUILD!
WE ARE A COLLECTIVE!

I know CSS and HTML, so I can always do something later with the layout. I think it looks pretty decent right now.
I figure we can run it as is on wordpress.com and use that template for now. Depending on how fast the blog picks up, I can always host it on my server and such later.
The wordpress.com prices seem pretty high for what they are offering.

yeah ******** the upgrade then... for the simple thing that it is now and probably will be in the future how we have it is pretty satisfactory... though DIYing the format would be a plus no matter how or where the blog goes.
im updating the about post, it sounds kinda cool if we are all going to collectively add a few lines to that...
if we are i think it would be cool to really emphasise the group effort by posting this introduction almost as a discussion between the group. Build it up, add to it. and make sure everyone knows who is saying what.
bleh... im getting really worked up about this... ******** think we really need to figure out what this blog is for right?
so what is it for?
like a mission statement or something.
once we answer that i think its important to title ourselves something more appropriate than "the Legacy of our gaia guild". in a sense its a legacy.... but i just put that up as temp filler, and i dont feel it at all articulates the purpose or the idea of why we have the blog.

Man, I'm more excited about this than I should be too. I like the whole "Collective" aspect of it. I made a new dropdown part to the navigation menu labeled "Collective" and it links to our last.fm page and the guild. Looks so professional. Also, I know we can add a different banner image for the layout instead of just the text. I could put something together later when we have a final name for the blog.

when i updated the about section i posted my gravatar image in my little part of the post. (did the same for jiggly's)
its pretty cool, the little gravatar becomes out signature in the post, and if people want to know about the author of that particular portion of the post they just have to click it and it sends them to their gravatar profile.
how i did this was: 1 just right click the image in the author's section 2 selected preferences 3 copied the address URL 4 edited the about post 5 uploaded it as an image (like one would for any image) at the end of my post.
really simple, i think its cool as ******** am personally going to use this signature process in every post i make in the blog.

I'm surprised there's not an option in Wordpress to do this automatically. :/ I couldn't find one.

so mission statement ideas.... what are we doing this blog for?
"the blog was set up to create a community or a collective out of the friends we have in our gaiaonline guild Unwashed Hooligans and its predecessor Dirty Punks.
The blog itself is meant to be a serious place for members of our collective to get our creative ideas out on the pixels and photons of the internet outside of a privatized guild on an anime site, and to do it working together."
things we plan on doing in the blog: -regularly posted origional comics -origional art -origional writing -origional film/youtubes -(maybe) origional music - post album, film, art, and literature reveiws and discussions - rants about life, punx, thought, philosophy, life styles. - (maybe) DIY how toos. - tell life experiences. - and of course... have fun

The "Original Music" and "DIY How Tos" would be a definite to include on the site. I know I have a bunch of How To things like screen printing and other artsy stuff I could contribute. Also, don't a few of the members here make their own music?
The rest of your list looks good too.
I think you should include that list on the "About" page as well as any type of mission statement we can come up with too. At this point, you can just delete what I wrote up there. We already have a link to the guild on other parts of the site, and that's basically all my post was about.

Also. Stop just adding tags to the first post there.
Oh. And just something I felt I should point out. My job is programming, so if there needs to be anything done on a programming standpoint I should be able to help.

A bunch of tags remove from that. Just me though. Waiting to see who the first person to have time to make a new blog on it is

Yeah, the tags are funny, but if the blog is going to be taken seriously we should only use tags for organizational purposes where it makes sense. Also, the Wordpress.com account doesn't allow for much customization in terms of what you can do with the code. :/
