"Not well, I'm afraid. Only a century since my brother, Derahci, died from his own vile acts, and suddenly I find myself having faced an evil none too unfamiliar... Life is never kind, I fear."

Arannis followed her, reverently recalling his past, hardly willing to share any more.

She frowned and spoted a woman with two large bags,
"Here, want some help?" She smiled kindly and held out her arms. The woman gave her a suspicious glance,
"Don't worry, I'm not going to take it and run! I don't even know what's in it!" She gave a little giggle.

Arannis smiled to the woman, nodding sincerely.

"I have known her for only so short a time, and I find she is trustworthy, lady. It does appear that you could use the aid, in any case. Is there something I can do for you?"

The woman seemed deep in thought, regarding their clothes, and manner,
"Some water...My children need clean water."
Thea was already burdened down with the sack.

"Hmm... allow me just a moment."

In one flash of light, Arannis vanished, and another showing him right where he had been, carrying a pair of water-laden buckets not long after. He smiled.

"Water it is, then."

She smiled,
"So,"
She turned back toward the woman,
"Where do you live?"

Arannis came down to a crouch, casually (well, as casually as a Celestial would otherwise) putting an arm over his knee.

"Same question. Someplace to take all this would be nice to know of."

The woman smiled, resting her own sack on her hip,
"Follow me."
She said and hastily walked through the streets, seeming to be in as much of a haste as they were.
Thea walked behind her,
"So...How many children do you have?"
"Seven."
The woman turned back slightly to speak, then continued forward. A few moments later she stopped at the entrance to a small Alley,
"Here..."
She walk into the alley, where five small children were sitting, their clothes and faces dirty. They hardly resembled the woman. These walked forward and set the bag down,
"They're all yours?"
"I am thier sole provider...but no, only two of them are literally mine."

Arannis paused in the alley's entrance, sudden memory bringing tears to his eyes.

"Then... what of the other two?"

His voice was barely audible.

The woman shrugged,
"From who's here, one of them would be mine. Chance are they're off begging or something. They're both old enough to get by."
Thea looked up at the woman,
"One of them is your own child, and you don't care about where they are?"
The woman shook her head,
"They're not here. It happens often. I could run around trying to find them by myself, because no body would help me. Or I can wait them to come home, like they always do."

Arannis looked to Thea, then back at the woman, holding a hand up in front of him, a faint colorless glow surrounding it.

"Tell me a little about them. I might be able to find them for you."

Meanwhile, he telepathically formed a link to Thea.

~She seems harsh on her own, indeed... I wonder if she's sincere.~

Thea shot him a glance, but did nothing else. The woman looked up appreciativlely,
"I would love that, but I showed up to drag them home, they'd make a fuss, and might draw a guard. I would be in trouble then. No, they'll be back, and they love their siblings, so they'll probably have food or something..."
She sighed and began taking things out of the bags, some blankets, practically threadbare. A loaf of bread, which she promptly broke up into enough for everyone of the children there. and she pulled out a hunk of cheese, doing the same to that,
"I've fruit for breakfast only, no sneaking, you understand?"
She looked at the children sternly before standing back up to the two foreigners. Meanwhile, Thea had stood up, while the woman was feeding her children,
"You know, I kind of understand why she might not want you to find them. It'd be better if they came with food, or money, than if she went and got them with nothing..."
This was all whispered quickly as the woman finished,
"So...Thank you..."
She said kind of awkwardly. Thea Smiled,
"The pleasure was mine...I suppose we'll go?"
She look to Arrannis.

Arannis nodded slightly, a grim smile to the woman.

"Someday, I sincerely hope life turns better than it appears to have been, madam. Best wishes until that day comes."

He turned and came slowly away.

She sighed and left the woman in her alley,

"Well...We might as well stop, I need food, even if you don't..."

She looked around for an inn, or a pub, or both.

Arannis nodded.

"Fair enough. Where to, then? Oh..."

He held a hand up in front of him, and a slight red came around it. He looked down the road.

"This way."

He led her to a nearby inn.
