Running, that's what Chris was doing at the moment. Running as fast as he could. He had just witnessed the execution of a gang member at the hands of a rival gang, by accident. And now they were after him. Lucky for him, he was a fast runner, the downside is that he was lugging along a backpack full of clothes, deodorant, money, and other essential things he deemed needed after just being kicked out of his home the previous day. He pushed up his glasses as he ran, panting wildly with both hands gripping the straps of his backpack. He turned a corner into an alleyway, pushing over a trashcan on his way in an attempt to stop his followers. He turned a corner, bullets piercing the wall infront of him right after he turned. From there, he headed back onto the street and ran directly through a crowd of people. Hoping he had lost them, he slowed down in front of a peculiar looking house. He looked back, then ran up inside of the house. Crashing through the door, he quickly closed it and then slumped down against it, panting.

Hearing a noise downstairs, Ever rolled her eyes and walked more quickly toward the door. Before she reached it, there was a gust of wind, and the door slammed in her face. Confused, Ever looked around for an open window. “Well that’s just great.” She muttered, unsuccessfully attempting to turn the knob. She groaned and jiggled the door knob. The wind blew again, shifting the curtains. Ever leaned against the door, considering trying to open the window. Suddenly, the door swung open, sending her stumbling into the hall. Ever smoothed her shirt awkwardly and brushed her hair out of her face. She hurried down the stairs and toward the living room. “What could you guys possibly be doing that-” she stopped short, seeing the newcomer in the doorway “Oh.”

Chris's panting slowed, and he glanced up at Ever. He expected the place to be abandoned, not home to some girl. Either way, this would work to his advantage. Maybe he could convince her to let him stay here for a while, maybe a few months, or years. He rose to his feet, pushing his glasses up and approaching her quickly. "You gotta help me!" He pleaded, "I need a place to stay, people are after me!" He took her by her shoulders as he spoke. "Please. I have money, if that's what you want."

Ever looked surprised for a moment but then pushed him away with a laugh. She glanced past him at the door, and her frown appeared once more. “You’re staying whether you like it or not.” she shrugged “We all are.” She offered no further explanation. “And I don’t want your money.“ Ever took a step back and studied him. Her eyes rested on his backpack before returning his face. “What’d you do, rob a bank?” She smiled, finding his urgency slightly amusing.

Chris stepped back, narrowing his eyes. "Wait, there's more of you? Just what is this place?" He asked, looking around at the interior. He pushed up his glasses. "Do I look like the kind of guywho could rob a bank alone?" He asked, this being his final question. "I was kicked outta my house yesterday." He stated, with a scowl at her smile. If we're all stuck in this hellhole, why is she smirking? He thought.

“Yes. Two more.” Ever answered, her smile not wavering. “And I believe this is what most people would call a house. And a deserted one at that.” She winked at him, as if letting him in on a secret. Her eyes lingered on his backpack once more. “So, when you were kicked out, you decided to move into a run-down mansion?” Ever raised an eyebrow questioningly. “Good thinking.”

Chris shook his head, deciding it was best to explain the whole story. "No, I got kicked out yesterday, and i've been looking for a place to stay. Without a place to sleep, I wandered around all night looking. And I ended up witnessing a guy get shot, and then they saw me and came after me. I've been running ever since, and I ended up here." He drew a breath, and then sighed. Everything happened so fast, he wasn't sure what to do. "So...why can't we leave?" He asked, taking his backpack off and setting it beside the door. And then, rubbed his shoulder.

Ever made a face. “Oh, that’s really not good.” She frowned slightly. "Go ahead, try to leave." She gestured to the door behind him. Ever crossed her arms and looked him up and down. He looked innocent enough; So she decided to be a bit nosy. “So what’d you do to get yourself kicked out?”

Chris glanced at the door for a moment, then looked back at her when she asked a question. He shoved his hands in his pocket, recalling what happened two days before he was kicked out. "I put some idiot in the Hospital for starting a fight with me." As ludicris as this sounded, him only being 5'10, and 130 pounds, it was true. "Broke his leg in two places, and dislocated his shoulder." He stopped there, leaving other details out. Despite being a mellow guy, Chris had a short temper, and spent much of his time practicing Tae Kwan Do. With that, he turned around and headed for the door just to see if what Ever said about being trapped in here was true. He went to open the door.

Ever raised her eyebrows but said nothing as he told his story. When he was finished, and facing the door, she decided to speak. “So that’s all you did?” She almost felt bad for him. Jeez, she thought, that sucks. He was probably only defending himself. She uncrossed her arms and leaned against the wall, waiting for his reaction. And it’s locked… she predicted silently. Though she was still a bit uneasy about the doors not opening, the whole situation was getting old.

Chris tried to open the door, but it turned out to be locked. "That isn't good..." He muttered, backing up. And then, he took two steps before jumping into a 360 degree spin, unleashing a powerful kick upon the door. He dropped to his feet, having accomplished nothing but rattling the hinges. Sighing, he picked up his bag and turned to Ever. "What are we supposed to do now then? Should I meet everyone else?" He asked, approaching her. He heald his bag over his shoulder with one strap, as he pushed his glasses up.

Impressive. Ever thought, though she’d never admit it. She shrugged as a response to his questions. She stood up straight so she was no longer leaning on the wall. A lock of hair fell across her left eye. With an impatient sigh, Ever pushed it away. “Mimeco is in the kitchen trying to find something for us to eat, and Nick is making sure the couches don’t go anywhere.” She took a half-step, and turned so that she was close to standing behind him. Ever nodded to Chris, indicating that she expected him to chose who he wanted to meet first.

Mimeco started her search, but found alot of things to the old dried food that had been gotten into by rats or mice. She frowned not being able to find a jar. Then she heard the bang, but dismissed it thinking it was Ever or Nick. She then grinned finding a bach of jar items. "Well let see." She started to pick through them quite a few were broken or cracked, but she found a few that had a good seal and no cracks. Then she started to wonder, if they had been dared to stay here why didn't they bring food with them? Mimeco hearda loud noise and headed out to kitchen. "What is going? Sounds like someone..." She stopped when she saw the new guy. "So another person is trapped in here too." She looked at the guy.

Ever smiled as Mimeco came out of the kitchen. “Meet Chris.” Ever stepped betwen the two. “He’s our new roomie” she joked. "Chris, this is Mimeco." Ever stepped back, allowing Chris and Mimeco to talk.

Nick raised his hand in a 'greeting' wave from his perch on the couch, chuckling to himself about Ever's earlier question- "What, did you rob a bank?" No, but he had robbed a store... That counted, right? He smirked to himself, shaking his head. He yawned, then cracked his knuckles and stood. "Chris, huh? I'm Nick." He said, walking over to the other side of the kitchen through a second door on the other side. "You got kicked out for sending a guy to the hospital? My pop probably would've paid to see me do that," he muttered, chuckling. "That slam was you, wasn't it? Do some funky kung-fu deal, or what? Probably how you sent the guy to the ER... No offense, but you're not exactly the toughest lookin' dude I've seen."
