"Would you like to learn to climb a tree?" Foxstar asked. Thunderclan and Shadowclan can both climb trees. But Shadowclan prefers pine trees.

"Right now? Even though we're still kits?" Oceankit asked. "Of course! By starting training early, we'll be the greatest warriors Shadowclan has ever seen!" Silentkit said, determination in the young kit's eyes.

"It is always useful to learn new things." Foxstar admitted. "Now, I'm gonna lift you up and put you on the first branch okay?" Foxstar asked.

"Ok," the kits replied, nodded to their leader. Oceankit waited patiently while Silentkit could hardly stop fidgeting.

Iceheart nearly snorted as she watched Foxstar lead the kits out of camp. Though it was honestly none of her business and she could really care less.

Viperpaw watched the kits leave camp with Foxstar. She snorted a little. Viperpaw never liked kits just becase they were so annoying.

"Okay, who wants to go first?" Foxstar asked. She would make sure that they only climbed a little bit.

"Me!" Silentkit said. Oceankit shrugged and stepped off to the side a bit. "Good luck!" she said to her brother.

"Okay you're only going to climb up to the fifth branch okay?" Foxstar told Silentkit, making sure he knew. The branch Foxstar indicated was only a fox length above the ground.

Silentkit nodded. "Ready," he said. He waited patiently for Foxstar to get him onto the first branch, getting his claws ready to dig into the bark.

Foxstar lifted young Silentkit onto the first branch. "Now you're going to leap onto the second branch and dig your claws in to heave yourself up." Foxstar instructed.

Silentkit nodded. He looked upwards and saw the second branch. He crouched down and leapt into the air. He just made it to the branch and dug his claws into the wood. Silentkit took a minute to scramble onto the branch, but he got on top of it. "Way to go Silentkit!" Oceankit cheered happily. Silentkit stood proudly on the branch, but kept his claws in the wood for support.

"Good job. Now the third branch is a bit lower then it was from the second one, but it's also farther away, so you want to jump high and far, but not too much or too little of either." Foxstar explained.

Silentkit nodded and examined the third branch. He crouched and jumped, landing better and almost completely on the branch. He used his claws to steady himself but he was on.

"Better. Now the fourth one is tricky, it's higher and very close. So your muscles have to be tense like you're going to pounce on my tail." Foxstar smiled. Silentkit was doing wonderfully, she would have to tell their parents about his tree climbing abilities.
