I know how you feel Sweets. I like WWII and that is the main reason why I love Hetalia. World Series is getting on my nerves a bit because I miss all the WWII stories, and there were still quiet a bit left. And it is true that the fandom can be overwhelming sometimes. One of the reasons why I've been watching a lot of Sgt. Frog and other anime recently, it keeps me sane when I come back to Hetalia. Though if you ask my friends I'm a HUGE Hetalia fan.

I have heard of the Hetalia Fandom being bashed, because a bunch of moronic fangirls start yelling that they love Hitler and Stalin, and all the other nasty leaders in the world. Really, that is just stupid and gives the rest of us bad names. For one thing the countries DO NOT represent the political party that is controlling them. For another, the Axis leaders (and Stalin) were horrible and deserved the worst kind of death possible.
Many people also hate the series because it skips over the horror of WWII. There is no mention of the holocaust or what war is like. I have tons of respect for the people who served in that war. I've visited the D-Day Beaches, the American AND German cemeteries from WWII in France, and I have gone to the Holocaust Museum. War is a serious matter and I know that.

When it comes to conventions and pairings, be respectful to others. I might bash pairings in front of you guys, but that's because we all know one and another, we are like family. If you go to conventions, that is entirely different. Remember common courtesy, and if you have something negative to say, keep it to yourself.

At my school the fandom for Hetalia is almost none existent. The only ones there are the people I converted. But it seems at AWA half of the cosplayers were Hetalia. I agree that the fandom is growing.
I get looked down upon for liking yaoi and other things like kinky stuff. Half of my friends like/worship/exist because of yaoi.
But since the fandom for Hetalia isn't very big here, I have no stories except for alot of friends not liking it.....
