"Well it all started a bit ago when the temple was attacked by a powerful wizard and his followers." The mirage glanced around a the grounds, "Now we're in the process of rebuilding."
Turning back to him, "As for the current situation, do you see that smoke over there?" The mirage pointed to the now dissapating black cloud. "One of the monks seems to have found something quite interesting."

*Kura, even in his drunken state, could feel the pesence of the guardian emerging from it's slumber.*
Hmmm....perhaps I shouldn't left that seal so easy to break. It should be nothing Atsu and Kami can't handle. I'll just step in if things get out of hand.
*and then....Kura fell alseep under a tree*

~Kami's ear perked up as Atsu approached behind him. He smirked a bit at the other monk's comment. It wasn't something he was hoping to see, that's for sure. But odds were it wasn't anything the denizens of this shrine wouldn't be able to handle. He looked back at Atsu with a grin and nodded, stepping forward and clearing his throat. He gave a low bow and responded to the beast's query.~ "Hail o' powerful Guardian! It was I who broke thy seal in my impatience. I ask thy forgiveness, as I was merely curious as to what brand of knowledge thy charge contained."
~The serpent narrowed it's eyes at the Kami's words. It lowered it's head to the ground and levelled it's peircing gaze at the two monks.~ "THOU ARE NOT THE FIRST FOOL TO DO SO HUMAN, BUT AS IS CUSTOMARY THOU MUST FIRS PASS A TRIAL BEFORE GAINING THE SECRETS OF THIS PARCHMENT. WHAT SAY THOU?"
~The red haired monk smirked. He'd been through this exact sort of thing countless times in the past, it was pretty much second nature by now. He didn't even have to ask what the trial was going to be, a guardian that fearsome wouldn't have been chosen for show.~ "What do you think Atsu? Care to give me a hand?"

Hou looks over towards the thickening smoke. "Wow... what are you wating for? Lets go and have some fun!"
Hou begins to skip and hop across to the smoke...

"Looks like this could be fun, am I allowed to help?" Atsu responded to Kami in with an upbeat tone, as he looked over the guardian.
The mirage quickley moved around in front of Hou to slow him down, "Just a moment, rushing into an unknown situation isn't exactly the wisest thing to do." Physically there was nothing the mirage could to do stop him, but hopefully his words would not fall on deaf ears.

As a sudden breeze blows through the clearing that Atsu's mirage and Sou stand, a figure stands a little ways from the pair.
"Atsu, you would think that every time I get bored I could stop by here. You always seem to have something exciting going on." Koga cheerfully says as he balances his hat on the tip of his spear and shades his eyes in the direction of the smoke cloud.
"Any ideas on what his happening this time, or is this just more aftermath from that wizard?"

"No, I don't think so. It appears to be a scroll guardian that Kami found down in the archives. I'd recommend holding back until we figure out what is going on." Atsu glanced back at Hou, "Well, anyway, this is Hou. He's a wandering monk. Hou, this is Koga, one of the monks here."

Hou halts as the mirage steps infront of him and grins. "Okaly dokaly...."
He turns to look at the other monk, looking him up and down. He bows formally and looks up smiling, "Wandering monk Hou at your service, brother!"

"Of course you can, it wouldn't be as much fun by myself." ~Kami grinned and bowed again to the large beast, one hand reaching inside it's own kimono sleeve as he did so.~ "We accept they challenge noble Guardian!"
"VERY WELL, DESTROY ME AND THOU SHALL BE PROVEN WORTHY!" ~Kami had already broken into a run as the serpent spoke, tossing several ofuda through the air with knifelike precision. The Guardian lowered it's head to the dirt and whipped it's body around with a massive gust of wind. As it turned out, the reason for it's body's strange form was because it wasn't a solid serpent body at all. It was actually eight smaller bodies connected to the massive head, each ending in another smaller and similer looking head of it's own. The wind caused by their unfurling blew the paper ofuda way with ease, and one of the heads charged downwards towards the red robed monk.~

Atsu dashed in right in tempo with Kami. As the gust of wind Atsu switched into his stoneform, the wind had no effect on the monk now. However this did cause his mirage standing with Hou and Koga to vanish.

Hmm things seem to have gotten more intense if Atsu needed to drop his mirage like that.
Lets move in closer and see if we cant get a better viewpoint.

~The wind didn't have any more effect on Kami than it did Atsu's stoneform. In fact, the gusts of air actually seemed to part around him as he ran forward. However, he certainly hadn't expected the true nature of the giant serpents body, and was only just barely able to dodge the smaller head that attempted to bite down on him. Five of the other heads soon followed suit, two rushing towards Kami and three for Atsu. Venom and saliva trailed from their fangs as they reached hungrily for the two monks.~
"Bah, is that all you have Noble Guardian?!" ~Kami's grin didn't fade at all, even when both sets of teeth were but a foot away from his own flesh. The red haired monk spun his staff with both hands, slamming it's ends over the brow of one head and under the jaw of the other. Both were knocked away and reared back with a shreik. Kami smiled continued his rush towards the larger head that supported the rest.~

Atsu tracked the three heads as they rushed toward him. One was in the lead with the other two slightly behind on either side. Looked like the first was supposed to get him to move while the other two swung around and flanked him. Well, if that's what they wanted...
As the first snake opened it's maw, Atsu rolled back onto his back and shot his one foot upward into the lead head's jaw. The two flankers adjusted for their lower target, but Atsu kept moving. The momentum from his backwards roll took him up over his shoulders and he landed in a crouch facing the two slam into the ground where he was laying just a moment before.
"Nice try, but you'll have to do better than that."

((Augh... I got so sidetracked with other things I nearly forgot what I was doing here xp I hate having such a poor memory. Let's try to get back into gear here shall we?))
~From his vantage point, Atsu would be able to see that the two heads that hadn't charged forward instead reared back a bit. Their neck's puffed and swelled just below the jawline, and from their mouths erupted a putrid purple smoke. Kami unfortunately was too close to the main head to notice this, and they both seemed to be projecting it straight down onto him. The other six heads now focused themselves entirely on Atsu and dove to strike once again. Four of them lashed their tongue's out, attempting to wrap and bind his limbs. The other two reached to wrap their jaws around his head and left torso. All this time, the larger head continue to rest on the ground, watching through glassy eyes.~
