I wouldn't go too far about making Yuuna's death like Tolle and Nicol's. I mean they were likeable characters. Yuuna's not really well liked. I mean the way they died, it just made you sad and was like OMG! Yuuna doesn't need that much attention. So, I guess it would be highly complicated.
I don't know about you, but to me the most emotional death had to be Mwu's. I guess 'cuz it was near the end of the war and Mwu is such a likeable character, it just makes you wanna cry real bad. I mean when Nicol died, I didn't really know what was going on. I just felt sorry, mostly for Kira since they focused it on him more. And then when Tolle died, I was just in shock. Mainly because of the brutality that was going on the the fight between Kira and Athrun. I was just so plainly shocked throughout that whole entire episode. But I really didn't want Tolle's death to happen. In fact, when it started raining I kind of got that boreboding feeling. It made me so jumpy. I was expecting someone to die, but I didn't really want anyone to die. Not to mention the episode when Dearka tried to fight Rau, I was so afraid that Dearka was going to die. I could have picture Mir crying already because he died. And I almost thought Kira was going to die at the end. In fact, it seemed like a whole lot of people were going to die at the end of SEED. Well, actually a lot of people did. sweatdrop But I honestly thought Cagalli and Athrun were gonna die together in GENESIS. In fact, the last episode wasn't really all that sad. The only thing that made it seem as sad as it did was the song they were playing while everyone was wondering "Where's Kira?" Have you ever heard the whole song? The name is "Find the Way". I really like it. But there is another song that Lacus sings that I find really pretty. Can't remember what its called, but she sung it for like 3 episodes.

I no what song you are talking about but i don't no what it is called. I have the gundam seed soundtracks and it has the long version of Find the Way. It is really good. I think they kind of over did it on Tolle's and Nicole's death. I mean saw Tolle's head fly off and you see Nicole get cut in half and the inside of his helmet got all bloody. That is probably what made it so sad. I felt really bad for Athrun and Kira at that part because they both lost a good friend. When it came to those eposides i always knew someone was going to die (my friend has the entire series in Japanese so i already knew who was going to die before it happened) that was why i wasn't that shocked. But when i first heard i was shocked. I thought Kira was going to die at the end of Seed because it looked like. I mean his moble suit was totally banged up. I really didn't like Ralecruelsa. He bothered me. He seemed nice at first but then he became twisted. I felt bad for Athrun when his Father died. I mean even though his father shoot him doesn't mean he did love him. I also thought that Mu's death was sad. I mean his last words where "didn't i say i could make the possible possible". Then he blows up.

Yeah, that was a real shocker when Mwu died. At first you think it was the people on the ArchAngel and then Mwu just jumps in from nowhere and says that phrase, which no one will forget, and then he dies. Its like you're standing there, staring, and wondering "What the hell just happened?" To tell you the truth, they kind of did the deaths really well in SEED. Its like you felt almost the exact way that the characters felt when in war. In fact, that was what everyone seemed to have felt like on the ArchAngel. "What the hell just happened?" And then all of a sudden despair fell upon them when they realized that their great hero, the King of Edymion, died. But I also knew who was gonna die before hand. I read every episode summary online before I saw the second half of the season. I wasn't all that shocked when reading because I wasn't too familiar with the characters at that point. I guess that's why it was more of a shock when it happened. Even Fllay's death was a bit of a shock. Not to be mean or anything, but I like the fact that Patrick died. Not because I think him to be evil. But really because I just wanted to see Athrun cry. It made me wanna cry. ><
Although I do wish that they would explain how is it that Cagalli was able to go SEED. I don't know if they explained it and I just missed it or something. But for four people, Kira, Athrun, Lacus, and Cagalli to go SEED and the only ones that have any connection...namely Kira and Cagalli...to go SEED, but three out of the four turn out to be Coordinators...Athrun, Kira, and Lacus...how in the world did Cagalli go SEED? She is like the only natural ever to go SEED. Does it have anything to with the fact that she's related to a Coordinator? Because really I thought going SEED was something special that only happened to Kira. And then there's something called New-type, where it seems only a select few has the ability. I can see how Kira might be the one...since he was basically a science experiment himself...but Athrun and Lacus? And even if Cagalli was Kira's sister...it didn't seem as if their father had much interest in experimenting on her. So where did she get the SEED ability from? The same goes for Shinn. That's why I thought that it was just a Coordinator thing...but as many times as Dearka and Yzak got pushed to their limits I haven't once seen them go SEED. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Do you have any idea how this is possible?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 14, 2005 3:15 pm

Not really but i think they Kira, Athrun, Lacus, and Cagali can go Seed is because they have something in them that when the go to there limits then they find this amount of power that they use. I don't really know if that makes sence but i don't really no how to explain it. But in that one eposide were Kira learned why he was made and what kind of abillities he has is were you find out a little more about the Seed. But they did say that he had berzerger abillities (whatever that means). Yes I was kind of hopping that Patrick would die because he was mean to Athrun. I felt like crying when i say Athrun cry it was just to cute. I felt really bad for Lacus when they couldn't find Kira but i was happy when they found him. I thin Athrun should have gone and got Lacus so that all for of them could have been together. That would have been a little more romantic. I did like how they did the deaths. I like it when animes make you feel like you no the characters and when they die you no how the characters feel. Now with the Cagalli thing i think she only has the abillity because Kira was her brother or maybe when there real parents made Kira a coordinater they decided to do something with her. But they did say that she wasn't a corrdinater so we really can only guess. Does any of this make sence?

whew, you ladies write a lot.

I agree with everything you are saying. As I read through those few pages, I was nodding my head in agreement the entire time.

Oh, and Mishu, I like that sneak fanfiction-scene "I-wish-this-happened" thing you added. I like that better then the original.

But you know, Athrun never really came out in SEED, or Destiny at that matter, that he had feelings for Cagalli or liked her. I wish he would have...

Yeah, we really did write a lot. I guess there's just so much to say about Gundam SEED. I just wish everyone else would come and join in on the discussion. Its pretty fun to me to share your ideals on something with someone else and be able to hear what they have to say in reply. And thank for complementing on my short fanfic insert. ^ ^ heart

We still don't have a lot of people... we have 20 memebers, but there are only about 10 really active members.

We need more people to lecture!!

eek Well okay...
Berserker abilities heh? I mostly hear about this stuff in other Gundam series. Even though I have heard people talk about it when it comes to Gundam SEED and Kira. But that's still just Kira. I know that they don't need to have a full background story for every character but that really doesn't explain how is it that everyone else seem to have berserker abilities that allows them to go SEED. And for Cagalli to be Kira's sister, uhm...well it didn't really seem as if their father care much about her. I wonder why though. Kira wasn't the first to be experimented on, but he didn't do it on Cagalli that's for sure. But then there is one thing that always gets me confused though...
The scene where Kira was forced to go up deck of the ArchAngel when they were in Orb because his parents wanted to see him. Cagalli came running to him and started talking to him. While they were talking, they showed Kira's parents and Cagalli's father talking in a booth above them and one thing that I think the father, can't remember who said it, said was "What are the odds of him finding his brother?" Either the translation was screwed up or they really meant to say it, 'cuz I saw in some places online that he seemed to have actually said that. And I'm all like he? Isn't Cagalli a she? But then often times in the series she is mistaken for a boy and tends to act like one. I know it could just be that she's tomboyish but is it just a coincidence? And then whenever they talked about Kira's past they never did mentioned the girl now did they? And then there's the part when their mother was screaming "My son! What have you done to my son?" I know she could have been talking about Kira, but just what if? I mean they never really talked about Cagalli's past ever and what part she might have had with their father's experiments...just Kira.
And the part about Lacus being taken out with Cagalli and Athrun to go look for Kira...as romantic as that may seem it would be too much. The priority at the time would be to find Kira, they wouldn't want to waste any time going back to the Eternal and getting Lacus. If that were to happen there would need to be another scene where they go aboard the Eternal and meet up with Lacus and then maybe some soldier comes up and tells them that they think Kira is alive and then they all go out looking for him...but that would need another 2 minutes into the showing. Its do-able. But I don't think they really bothered with it.

I think the whole "him" translation accident thing was just a mistake in the translation. And when Kira's mother was shouting "My son!", she was talking about Kira, not Cagalli.

You see, Cagalli and Kira aren't like perfect twins, both born from the womb. If you noticed, they dont look anything alike. Cagalli was properly made in her mother's womb, like a natural. Kira was made artifically from his mother's egg and father's sperm. Added together and mixed with special coordinator juice and bam! You have a nifty coordinator. Certain tests were made on Kira, making him the Ultimate Coordinator. He was the only survivor of these tests. She was probably screaming "My son!!" because of Kira being the Ultimate Coordinator, and the only survivor out of countless others.

Okay, next on the list is the lovely SEED Mode. SEED actually stands for Superior Evolutionary Element Destined-Factor. Kira, Athrun, Shinn, and Cagalli (supposedly) and maybe Lacus actually have SEED Factor. Kira may contain this factor in his blood, but he is actually an Extended.

The First Generation Extendeds were Clotho Buer, Orga Sagnak, Shani Andras. Extendeds humans had some biotechnological modification and were mentally conditioned to eliminate their sense of fear and increase aggression in combat; the subjects were mostly regular pilots who were given regular doses of the performance-enhancing drug Gamma Glipheptin. This drug had a negative effect on the pilots' mental stability and caused them to behave in undesirable ways during battle. It also had very brief duration, and as the effect wore off it left the pilots incapacitated with severe withdrawal symptoms, as their nervous systems began to collapse without regular doses. Their loyalty to the Alliance was guaranteed by their addiction to Gamma Glipheptin.

The Second Generation Extendeds were Sting Oakley, Stellar Loussier, and Auel Neider. Second Stage Extended humans were physically and psychologically altered with brainwashing, heavy mental conditioning, performance-enhancing drugs and extremely harsh combat training. They were more stable than first-stage extendeds, but required regular re-conditioning, especially when their trigger words were used to force actions from them. They also required regular brain "maintenance" to keep them in a high-performance state, and to erase any "undesirable" memories they might have.

You might not hear Kira called an "Extended." You may hear him be called a "Newtype". The only known Newtypes were Kira Yamato, Mwu La Fllaga, Rau Le Creuset, and Rey Ze Burrel. The mobile suits Providence, Strike Freedom and the Sky Grasper can only be pioleted by Newtypes. Their Dragoons can operate on their own by their Newtype piolet to simply "think" it.

On a side note, this is also a potential difference between the Providence and the Legend. Athrun was giving the Legend in Destiny over the Destiny Gundam for the Dragoon factor. Legend was based off of Providence, although they had to change the Dragoons to a less intense version for any non-Newtype to pilot.

Well oddly enough that explained a lot. How could they go through all this experimentation? It just makes me feel sad for them...especially Stellar. But that's another story.

You just answered a bunch of guestions for me. I knew a little bit about the Seed but i never knew all that. Thank u. You also answered the question that i had about Shoni and then. I never got what they were taking and what was wrong with them. I only new that they were coordinaters. Thank you for clearing that up. When they put translations on they mess then up a lot. My friend as a copy of Inuyasha movie 3 and they just messed up that movie. So i bought it when it came out and we watched it and it was all better. But i don't get why they didn't experiment on Cagalli? But i think there is one eposide that shows the mom saying no and she really didn't want Kira to be the ultimate coordinater. They didn't want the children to meet. How mean is that? Also when Kira went to the deck the only reason was because he didn't want to see his parents but they wanted to see him. This way he got to see them and so did they and he didn't ask them the question he had. With out him asking "Why the hell did they make me a coordinater" we didn't get to no why. What do you think the reason is?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 17, 2005 9:49 am

At that point and time in the show Kira didn't know he was adopted. So when he was asking "Why did they make me a coordinator?", he meant the Yamatos. But in reality they didn't make him a coordinator, it was his biological father who did. And Kira didn't find this out until much later. And we all should know by now why he made Kira a coordinator. Its just that once Kira found out the truth, he never went back to his parents and tell them. At least I think he didn't. In a way, Kira got his answer but he obviously didn't like it. And what was worst was that it was Rau who told him. And speaking of the Yamatos, I'm not completely sure on this but I think the whole time that Kira and Lacus was in the orphanage they only showed or at least mentioned Kira's 'adoptive' mother. What ever happened to his father in Destiny?

I don't no and i don't remeber. But i forgot that he was adopted i always thought that the Yamato's were his really family just the way he was talking about them in Seed. But they didn't really mention that much about family members or did they and i just missed it?
