I agree with duffyhja on one point.
I think one of the reasons we hate Minerva is because she thinks she's better and smarter than Arty.But in fact,no one is better or smarter than Arty.Because she thinks she's better and smarter than the Prodigy we all heart ,we despise of her.
I believe I speak for all Artemis Fowl book fans(and please correct me if I'm wrong)in saying that we all either love good ol' Arty,or at least have a little soft spot for him,and want him to be happy with either ourselves(if your a total hardcore Arty lover)or Holly. 3nodding

I'd like her if she wasn't catching Artemis's eyes so much. Not to say that I want to.
What I mean is that Artemis isn't the type of guy who wants love, by the looks of it, even if he is the age to be... attracted to others. By Gods, she's twelve! D:
And I think she's kinda evil, but not as bad as Opal.

I've got no problem with Minerva.
People only hate her cause' they're determined to keep Artemis single.
The truth is, he needs somebody with a little bit of evil in them.
It seems like a quality he'd admire.

The reason why I don't like her isn't 'cause she might make Arty not-single, or however you want to put it, I just don't like her because she was too similar to Arty. She was practically right out of a really bad fanfic in which a person put their own Mary-Sue into just because they wanted to pair Arty up.
& obviously by the last book, we see that Arty is most definitely with Holly. |D

I don't really like her... talk2hand she's just soo irritating and soo wannabe interspecies know genius
and she's keeping Arty away from Holly... 4laugh
I do not get why she isn't brainwashed I mean just 4 mudmans know of the fairies real excistens and 3 of them are Fowl-related why not brainwash her?

i like Minerva. i think it would be good for Arty to have a girlfriend as intelligent as he is. i was sad when she didn't appear in the 6th book :'(
yeah, most people think of Arty & Holly as a couple, but that can never happen because they are different species. the other reason is probably because girls like Arty for themselves. i myself would take the role of his amazing sister. razz

I don't think Minerva is a needed character. We already have three geniuses: Arty, Foaly and Opal. And I disagree with jezebelbookluver that Arty and Holly can't become a couple. Honestly, even if they are different species, they're both humanoid and so can probably have children if they wanted to. The questions are, A) Could they get along as a couple, B) if they had children, how smart and magical would those children be, and C) would the age difference (about 70 years) and maturity difference (about ten years) create a problem relationship wise?

Artemis and Minerva would not get along. It just wouldn't work. They're both super smart, and would get on eachother's nerves.

I don't really care about Minerva. She was an ok character but in the end she was really just someone to be presented as a yin yang to Artemis. And also I'm an Artemis/Holly fan so I really didn't want anything to happen between Minerva and Artemis anyway. heart
