Caliah woke early in the morning. He yawned and stretched, and stood up. Then, he got dressed, picked up a bit around his room, made sure he had everything he might find useful for the day, and left his room, locking the door on the way out.
Upon entering the main area of the Inn again, he sat down at the same table as he had last night. It was his usual table, and seeing as he always sat alone, it was usually empty when he arrived there.
"Can I help you, sir?" said the waitress.
"Yes, can I have some toast and a coffee please?" Caliah asked politely.
"I'll be back in a few moments with your food." The waitress walked away.

Shizuka woke up early, like she always did. She rarely got more then five hours of sleep, only because Kiro was very impatient. It felt weird sleeping in a bed, she normally slept on the cold hard earth ground.
Shizuka cleaned up and left the room, the key in her pocket. Kiro was following close behind her. When she got to the main area of the Inn, she immediately checked the mission board, as previously suggested by the barman.

Mission Board Crystal CaveEmployer: Darien GarlanDescription: The miners have been forced to leave the cave to the east of Sarina by a "strange, crstal-like monster". Until this is taken care of, we're unable to mine the crystal that is necessary for many magical devices. I'll be paying whoever takes this mission handsomely. If you're interested, visit me at the mansion. I recommend going with a group. I'll send a healer with you if you don't have one with you. Shizuka studied the list, or it could have been considered staring at it for five minute. She really have no idea which mission to take, but the last one seemed out of the question because she knew for a fact that she needed money. Between the two left she let out a sigh, it was the same person hiring and they said they preferred that the first one be done first. Shizuka let out a moan of annoyance and looked down at Kiro. "How am I going to find a group in such a short notice, Kiro?" The puma just tilted her head to the side and twitched her ears.

After the waitress came back with his breakfast, Caliah ate his meal in silence. He felt refreshed after a good night's rest, but wasn't looking forward to the day's worth of work. "Look on the bright side, though," he thought, "Maybe your partner won't ditch you today.
He stood up, pushed his chair in, and turned toward the Mission Board. "Oh, it's that girl from yesterday, and her cat. Another strange pair, although most people are strange around here..." He walked over, and started reading the missions.

Shizuka looked at the man and almost jumped, she hadn't realized he approached the mission board. "H-Hi." She said, not wanting to be rude or anything.

"Hello," he replied without looking toward her. "If you're looking for a job, try Mr. Garlan. He's always good on his word, and he never lets anything major happen to his employees. He seems to be busy lately, too..."

"Yes but I would have to take the first job and I don't have a group." Shizuka said as she pointed to the mission list. "And I don't know where to start to find a group."

"I don't know who is good and bad. What if I come across a hungry vampire." Shizuka muttered slightly as she put her hand on her neck. The bite from the vampire before was still imprinted in her mind.

"Well, in my opinion, if you come across a hungry vampire, either be prepared with a nice bloody steak, be prepared to endure a very long fight, or be prepared to run faster than you ever have before. And most people around here are combat-ready. If they weren't, they probably wouldn't be here." He surveyed the people in the inn, nodding slightly.

"As of yesterday, I am jobless. I had to quit, since the other people involved in the job sort of abandoned me. So, I would be happy to assist you in this mission." he replied. "Do you feel as though we will need more than the two of us and whomever Mr. Garlan sends along with us?"
