I know this might sound a bit cliche, but what about a medieval type RP, using like darker fantasy creatures as well as humans.

However, at the same time for the lifestyle and whatnot, we could use a bunch of accurate history (I know about it, just finished the topic in my Western Civ class)

I'm always up for the hybrid/anthro stuff, although I understand that not everyone likes that... I would love a Pirate roleplay with fantasy creatures, I kind of got a character for that. Harpy/birdy character, sort of.

I love medieval/historical roleplays too, and don't mind dark or horror-ish. For darker fantasy creatures... sort of like demons, dragons, vampires, wraiths, evil spirits?

As long as we don't have to include the hygeine part of the accuracy, sounds good to me. o.o

And as Rad said, would the 'fantasy' part include things like dragons/demons/elves/vampires/werewolves/etc?

Hmm... now just come up with a plot of sorts, can have something basic like an evil lord reigning over a race of demons wanting to take over the rest of the world ... hm, that's a bit like Weis & Hickman's 'Sovereign Stone' series. It's about the four elements and each race has a special affinity for the element, Orcs were water, Elves were air, Humans fire and Dwarves stone/earth, I believe. The elements are represented by the 'Sovereign Stone', a special crystal of awesome power that was split into four, one piece given to each race. The stone piece can be used to make a worthy warrior become a 'Domain Lord', a special warrior with a certain characteristic. Eg. Lord of Strength has superstrength, sort of... it allows them to summon a magical armour that represents a certain animal associated with the trait, in that case it could be a bull for instance. The helmet would be in the shape of a bull.
Anyway, they didn't expect that the Stone was actually split into five, the fifth element being 'the Void', being the opposite of the four natural elements like darkness/evil being the opposite of light/good. There are wizards that use Void magic but it has a terrible price since it feeds on your own lifeforce to use it, while in the case of the other elements, you can just use the element at hand. Use a flame to use fire magic for instance.
The Void from the Stone manifested itself as a dagger, and when someone is stabbed with it, they become a 'Vykrill', an undead servant of the wielder of the dagger. They're still sentient and as intelligent as they were, they just have to obey the wielder of the dagger. Also they have to feed on other people's lifeforce since they're in essence part of the Void. If they kill someone by stealing their soul and lifeforce, they can take the form of this person. Also, the wielder of the dagger gains a lifetime literally when he uses the dagger on someone. So if he kills 30 people that way (though he can only have 10 Vykrills at a time, he'd have to kill one, they can be killed, to create a new one), he is technically 30 lives. You'd have to kill him 30 times.

Well, the wielder of the dagger is in the book the second son of the Human king who received the Stone from the gods. This son would never be king since his older brother would be and he was jealous. He accepted the Void, and wanted to become a Domain Lord too. During the ceremony to become a Domain Lord something went horribly wrong, he was burned alive to ashes. However, the corpse stood back up and regenerated to become the new Lord of the Void. He starts a war against his father and brother, destroying the beautiful city into a ghost-ridden wasteland, the prince vanishes after this, apparently disappeared into the void.
About 200 years later, the prince re-emerges into the world, he went to a different dimension where he met a demon-like race of creatures, bit .. werewolf-like just without the transformation, as in permanent humanoid wolf or similar like beings; they're called Ta'an, I think. He convinces them he's their god, since that race is actually attuned to the void. They even get around the stealing of lifeforce bit by inserting special magical gems under their skin (bit like a weird tattoo) and the energy of those are used to use void magic. He gets a whole army of them to his own world. There he starts a new war where he wants to conquer all lands, find all the pieces of the Sovereign Stone and bring them together again so he can have absolute power.

Whoops, sorry, got a bit carried away with my explanation of the basic plot of the trilogy ^^; I love the story anyway, it's a beautiful trilogy. Erm... maybe we can come up with some plot based on this. The problem will be to get the characters, although we could play multiple characters...
One of my favourite characters in the book was a warrior from a tough nomad warrior tribe who was a mercenary captain in the human army, and he gets captured by the Ta'an. The Ta'an are actually an honourable race, they believe strongly in strength and honour, since he fought back hard they 'honour' him by having him as a slave instead of just eating him. He hates them at first but starts to understand them better, seeing them as great, honourable though misled warriors, and proves his own worth throughout the story and eventually he's the leader of a small tribe of Ta'an and goes along with them back to their homeworld. That's the short of it... Hm... I should read the books again some time. I'm just currently reading a lot of Terry Pratchett's work ^^
