He was glad she was pushing herself. If she had quit...well, so much for his brilliant plan. That would suck, if he had to wait for another Princess to be born, before he could try this again.
He wasn't sure if she should be trying things like the rolls so early, when she barely had any endurance, and couldn't even turn or land all that well yet. But she was imporving, so he supposed she could have her bit of fun. As long as she didn't fall and hurt herself, because then the Queen would kill him, and that would suck.
He kept his tone neutral, to make sure she couldn't tell this was another test: was she going to let this determination get in the way of common sense, and keep going, even though now she was utterly exhausted?

Misaen clambouned back up to sit near Xerxes. Her wings were sore but she felt mostly fine. she said as she stood up again. she said with a small nod. she gave a little hyena-like laugh, trotting around his legs.

He could start her training now, so she could strengthen her muscles as they developed, and so she could respond to threats instinctively. Although she probably wouldn't be all that fond of him in the morning, if he did. Then not only would it feel like her wings were about to fall off, and her chest and back hurt a ton, but so would everything else. But then, she would have to get used to it. The pain meant the muscles were growing, that you were improving. He supposed he might as well get her used to the pain, as soon as possible. Assuming she didn't have anything else in mind.

Misaen stopped and pondered. They were there to work and to train so she hd to pick something that involved that. It took a little while before she reembered seeing other Damphousse attacking rocks in their spare time...which everyone had anyways. she asked with a questioning look.

There were a few rocks around, possibly from an old rock slide, and he chose a midsize one to demonstrate on, so that way she wouldn't try attacking anything too difficult for her, since she was still a kit.
The attack wasn't difficult, but it was odd, because it relied more on chest and back muscles than leg muscles, while the instinct was to attack using just leg muscles.

Misane nodded, watching him attack the medium sixed rock. He picked one that was a little smaller than he was and so Misaen followed suit. She watched him, studying how he did it. With a small nod she crouched and leapt at the rock attacking it in close to the same fashion he did.

Considering that she was still a kit, had never practiced, and that she was probably sore from her flying training, that was an amazingly good attack. In all honesty, he had expected her to do much worse than that. Was that just luck, though, or could she keep it up?
he told her. It had been good. Of course, now there was the worry that maybe she would grow up to be too strong...it was best if he didn't worry about that now. He didn't like it at all.

Misaen paced back from the rock and looked up at Xerxes. Her tail went a mile a minute at the praise. She liked it when she did things right. So she ran forward and attacked again, trying to do it exactly as she had before.
Even if she trained well and hard, it really wouldn't matter if she were very strong. As soon as she grew up she would out rank him and he couldn't take her rank. They'd have no reason to fight, but if she were strong she could beat the other princess and rank above her and be closer to the title of queen.

It was good that she was reacting so well to the praise. That meant she looked up to him, and would listen to him, which was exactly what he needed out of her. He needed to build up this relationship, before she developed her mind-reading abilites. That would also give him time to figure out how to protect his mind from her, and the other females. Such as Princess Arduna. Princess Arduna who had a thing for fighting, and it wouldn't put it past her to challenge him to a fight, just to see if she could win. He hoped the little Princess kitling wouldn't turn out like the older Princess...But you should never rely too much on things going your way.

Still was barely kiling the rock. She actacked again. The queen was sure to kill it this time. She was going to tree's next. Hating how the rock was being a crappy rock. At least after she was done she wouldn't have to deal with the rock.

Misaen went on like this for some time. Some attacks proved well and the other she managed to hurt herself. On her final attack one of her claws was scratched to the quick. She stopped and backed away, licking the slightly injured paw. she asked looking up at her senior, still nursing the bleeding paw.

The injury was probably rather painful to her, since she hadn't really had time to experince pain yet, but not anything that major. Surely nothing the Queen would demote him over.
She had spent a lot of time practicing, considering that it was her first day. He thought that maybe she could go on for a bit longer, but she had been doing a good job, so he was going to reward her with some rest.
There was no way she could fly anywhere, now, with flying muscles pushed so much in one day of training, and those same muscles were partially used in walking, too. He would probably end up carrying her back to the caves again, so he crouched down, so she could get on his back.

The bleeding stopped quickly and Misaen was able to put pressure on it once more. When he asked if she wanted to go back she gave a small nod, but did not climb onto his back. she said with a proud stance, puffing out her chest and holding her head high. She padded over to the edge of where they stood and spread out her wings. She could simply glide as far as she could, that would not put to much strain on her muscles.

He wasn't sure how long he expected her to last, even gliding, but it wasn't long.
He kept to the ground, to compensate for her slow gliding pace. That way, she could also glide onto his back, if her muscles hurt her too much from the gliding. It was good that she still wanted to practice, but he doubted that this was really going to help her any.
Ah well. At least she wanted to be like him. That was a very good sign of progress. Maybe he could try to get her to act more like a proper Damphousse, and less like a Koivou kit.
