“You’re going too fast!”“Noooo, you’re moving too slow!”Xyrn sighed and let the argument drop before it could begin. In the short period of time she had known the small purple dragon currently bounding along in front of her, the girl had discovered that arguing with Ataraxia was probably the most pointless thing in the universe.
The pair trudged along in silence for a few more moments before the human tripped and landed face first in the snow... for about the eighth time. The dragon halted and waited for the girl to right herself, jumping from paw to paw with impatience, something that looked rather comical considering Ataraxia’s small stature and the handful of inches of snow covering the ground.
“Xia?” Xyrn asked as the two set off again.
“Yeah?”“Where exactly are we going?”The purple dragon stopped dead where in her tracks, causing the girl walking behind her to also stop suddenly, slip on a patch of conveniently placed ice, and fall hard on her rump.
“I... don’t know,” Xia replied, the uncertainty in her voice matching the thoughtful expression on her face. The dragon shook this from her however and resumed the happy disposition she had held a minute before.
“Which makes getting there all the better!” she threw over she shoulder as she continued on, barely allowing Xyrn time to scramble to her feet.
After a few more minutes and only two more falls on Xyrn’s part, the two arrived at a largish clearing, where both humans and dragons alike frolicked about.
“Ohh... pretty...” Xyrn whispered as she took in the sight of the clear sky and snow covered trees and allowed herself to be lost in the general merry chaos.
Seeing that the girl would come to no harm, Ataraxia left her staring happily off into space near the edge of the clearing while she wondered off for something more interesting.
