Hiei smiled as she looked at it, blinking, unsure as to what it was doing in front of her face, before she tried to grab it, it was too soon once the novelty of the toy wore off for the next few hours and she finally settled in to sleep in Hiei's arms. "Finally..." He breathed a sigh of relief.

By this time, the sun was rising, illuminating the room more, and possibly enough to wake the girl... something Kurama wished to avoid, since his human body begged for sleep. The fox had made sure to watch over Hiei, keep him company, and to help him calm the child, since Hoshiko hadn't taken to himself so well.
"Hiei," his voice was in a whisper, "I need to rest. Hoshiko's bed is already set up in my room, for today, so I'd like you to come with me, if you don't mind."

Hiei shook his head. "I don't mind... I need some sleep." He commented, yawning slightly. "I feel like I could go into hibernation just from today. Don't worry though, I won't."

"I normally wouldn't mind that, but I would rather you not leave her solely in my care, since Hoshiko isn't particularly fond of me."
The red-head stood from his current place on the couch, motioned for Hiei to follow, and turned to begin the fairly short walk upstairs to his bedroom. After getting there, he closed the curtains to keep most of the light out of the room, and finally sat down on the bed.
Several feet away from the bed was the child's cradle; it was close enough to get to easily, were Hoshiko to wake and cry, but far enough for the fire apparition and himself to whisper to each other, if they wished.

Hiei nodded, deciding that sleeping the the same bed as the Yoko couldn't hurt. He changed into the pajamas that the other had lended to him and was soon snuggled up under the covers. With the child fast asleep in the crib.

((Hiei... snuggled... pajamas.... *giggles*))
Kurama, as well, got under the covers of the considerably large bed—carefully, as not to wake the child, or disturb the fire apparition, who was, deny it as he may, suffocatingly cute. A very obvious smile came to his face at that thought, one that the other surely would see. It would prove interesting to explain, if he had to.

"What are you... Yawn smiling at, 'Rama?" Hiei questioned, though without any malice in his words.

In another case, like if the fox could detect anger in the tone, he may have avoided the question... but Hiei was truly curious and wanted to know. How to answer, though, without sounding ridiculous, and possibly have the added bonus of offending the Koorime?
"Are you aware of how adorable you look, now?"

Hiei blushed at the question. "W-w-why are you answering a question with a question? You tricky fox..." He murmured. "And what would make you ask such a silly question?"

The blush simply frosted the cake, and Kurama chuckled softly for a moment before answering calmly, "It was my way of saying you look cute, Hiei. The question part was irrelevant entirely."

"I'm not- that cute," Hiei whispered, though the blush increased just a hair, before he shook his head. "You're just seeing things cause you're tired, that's all."
It was his way of trying to evade the issue altogether, but it was very, very hard to evade, especially when you were blushing from said statement. "You need to sleep, Kurama, then your eyesight will be cleared up by morning."

"If it does have anything to do with my eyesight," Kurama began, seeming to be deep in thought, "then I should have my eyes checked immediately. This... condition has been getting progressively worse."
The fox wasn't being serious... no, not at all; he was teasing. How long would it take the little Koorime to catch on?

Hiei suddenly was wide awake. "You aren't going blind are you?" He questioned, getting up close to the other's face to see if he could make out anything in the other's eyes to indicate whether or not he was truely going blind.

The crafty fox took advantage of the situation, bringing his mouth closer to the other and kissing him softly. He wasn't quite sure why he had done it, but certainly didn't regret it, and hopefully Hiei wouldn't mind.
"There's no need to worry," he said a moment later, as if nothing at all had happened.

Hiei turned red in the face, before stammering a few times. Before he finally got what he wanted to say straight and was able to actually inquire about the event that had just happened. "W-w-what was that for?" He questioned the fox. "Come on, tell me why you did that? Kuramaaa.... Please... Just tell me why you did that."
