"Do I?" Ariai laughed a little. "Well, I suppose it is a bit obvious." She let her shoulders rise a little in a shrug. "I am in love. Why would I not have a look on my face that implies it?" she asked, smiling. "Have you ever been in love Ms. Anderson? I'm sure with your looks you would've managed to aquire a few lovestruck men, at least."

((Argh... I've been having severe blockage for Liek..))
Liek smirked softly, but it wasn't smug or mischeivious, merely amused. She soon was leading Deimos to a near by resturaunt. Her hair fell no matter how many times she tried brushing it from her face but it didn't seem to annoy her, it was merely something to do. Her hand held his gently as they walked down the street on the sidewalk.
Once at the doors she held them open till he walked in, heading to the podium and talking to the seater. Almost immediately they were seated at a table for two with a cande tea light in a lovely glass holder in the middle of the table. The place was dimly light and the fire light made Liek's cat like eyes gleam and dance.
She ordered two wine specials, hoping the smell of all these humans wouldn't upset Deimos too much. "I hope this is all right. It is much quieter than the pub and I could not bring myself to be there tonight. Though since I've run into you, my day has moved for the better it's true." She said with a playful small smile as she rhymed softly.

Laughing softly, Faith picked up a picture frame from her desk and examined it idly. "I have indeed had my fair share of lovers," she said before she set the image down. It was a picture of her when she wsa a child with her parents and the only picture in the entire office. All her other photographs were tucked away in a shoebox under her bed.
"I was a lot different in high school, Miss Ariai. I was the girl everyone wanted to be with, really. However, I hit university and everything changed," she continued softly. With a little smile, she looked around the office. "This is the product of my time at university," she finished, waving her hand at the sparse walls, small filing cabinet, and the sofa.
Of course, that was not really the topic the two women were on. They were on a topic that had been part of women's discussions for centuries. It was rather ironic to Faith seeing as she had not sat and talked to another woman like this in such a long time. "Oh, and please, just call me Faith. Formalities can be such a bother in this business!" With a happier laugh, she walked over to the sofa and perched herself on the arm rest. "It must be wonderful... having someone to love and to be loved by. I have to say, it's something I miss... but I chose to give that life up."

Ariai listened fully. After all, it is what she did best. "Alright, I will Faith." The vampiress smiled a little.
She paused when the other mentioned 'to love and be loved by'. "It wasn't always that way with me Faith. It's only been recently-very recently- that Clifford and I have realized our feelings for each other." She fingered the hem of her dress. "What made you give up love? It must've been a tough decision..."

Shrugging, Faith just looked away from Ariai. "It wasn't really that hard of a decision," she admitted. Of course it had not been a hard decision; she worked in an area that was more often than not very dangerous. She could not be responsible for a person, especially if she gained enemies. It was too much for her to handle. SHe would not be the reason an innocent person got hurt, especially if it was someone she cared deeply about. That was part of the reason she had moved away from her home and changed her appearance so drastically. It was a look she thought would make her pretty unrecognizable to the people she had grown up with.
"I want to focus on my work completely, even if it's just for a few more years. I can't have a boyfriend if I wanna do that."

"I can understand your reasoning..." Ariai nodded and smiled a little. "It's a very noble thing of you. I'm sure there will be someone waiting for you. There is always someone out there for you. If not a soulmate, then a best friend."

~(I shall take responsibility for part of your Liek blockage. I gave you almost nothing to work with. ><
~shakes fist at rhyming~ Rhyming breaks my brain, and Deimos likes to play along whenever he can. That a*****e. I'll kill him one of these days, haha. xd
ANd I swear, I'll post as soon as I get something in my head to post. I feel so useless. ><)~

Faith placed a finger thoughtfully on her chin as she took in what Ariai had just said. "I agree... but I'm not even ready to be tied down to anyone yet. Life's just too short to give up what I have left of my youth!" It was a rather juvenile comment coming from a woman in her twenties but it was how she felt. To her, age was just a number that didn't mean much but she still didn't consider herself to be an adult, especially not in the presence of someone who had lived much longer than Faith could ever imagine.

"Youth..." Ariai smiled a little wanely. "I'd give you more if I could. Who doesn't want to live longer, if not forever?" Ariai's smoothed out her dress, and Scorn lightly jumped up to occupy the lap. She started stroking him lovingly, regarding her female companion in front of her. "Humans always want to live as long as they can, but they always forget that death is but the beginning of another life. Death is yet another adventure."

"I don't fear death... I embrace it," Faith murmured a bit. She had picked a lifestyle that would only end up sending her to an early grave. Her job consumed ehr life entirely and she ended up in danger more often than not.

"Um-hm." Ariai nodded a little. "Your job puts you in danger more times than you can count, right? Tell me, what other cases have you worked on? I'm curious what other magical or mystical creatures you've worked with."

Faith nodded a bit before pulling her chair to the front of her desk. "Around here... mostly ghosts. It's not much but it's gotten me by. I've travelled a few times for work though," she commented, a half smirk on her face. She had seen some very creepy things abroad, especially in Europe.
"Believe it or not, I've encountered Vampires before. Not on such a large scale but a few places in Europe... There was a Banshee in Ireland that I helped with a bit. There was a werewolf incident in Switzerland too. Those were the days when I actually had money though!" she mused, laughing a bit. She remembered the short period of time she had actually had money to use for her business and smiled.

"Ghosts, banshees, and werewolves. Interesting. Those are pretty common around this area." Ariai tapped a finger on her chin. "You've never dealt with unicorns, pheonixes, ogres, giants, nothing like that? I can show you if you want to. I've traveled around, and I've been able to see these creatures and interact with them."

((I like it! ^__^ It's very cute!))
"Unfortunately.. I'm under contract right now. I can't really go anywhere until this case is solved," Faith pointed out as she ran a hair through her short blonde hair. While she was telling the truth, there was more to it than something so simple. Essentially, Faith doubted that any such creatures existed. She was incredibly skeptical for someone who earned her living as an investigator of paranormal phenomenon.
