Willow stared, blinking a few times.
"That's quite a long name!" she said, smiling finally. "It must be a pain to write down."
Willow shrugged. "I'm Willow Illayna Quailan." she said. "Nothing big."
She pointed at the book. "So what's that you're reading?

"Not really," she said softly, shrugging.
Marceline looked to the book that Willow pointed at. "You mean what I was reading." Looking back at Willow, she said, "The Count of Monte Cristo. It is a muggle book."

Willow made an annoyed face but quickly hid it. The grammar correction had bothered her. But she quickly cast that aside.
"It looks good." she said. "I don't usually read much myself...I'm more into playing Quidditch...I love that sport."
Willow suddenly had a question. "Hey, what house do you think you'll be sorted into?"

"I have never played Quidditch, but I have heard that it is a fun sport."
Marceline thought for a moment.
"I am hoping to be in Ravenclaw. I think that would be a fun house to be in. Gryffindor would be alright, I suppose. As well as Hufflepuff. I have heard that people in Slytherin are rather mean though, so I do hope I am not in that house. What about you?"

(OOC: Why are you putting her name at the top?)
Willow shrugged. "I think Gryffindor. My brothers are in that house. So were me mum and dad."
Willow noticed that Marceline talked very proper. She began to wonder if this girl was one of those brainy people. Maybe she would be in Ravenclaw.
"As for Quidditch, I'm good at the Beater position. I once cracked a bludger in a game with my brothers when I hit it into a large rock. I guess I wasn't aiming too well."

{ Well...I kinda just got used to that form. I find it rather helpful sometimes when you can't remember who plays a certain character... sweatdrop }
Marceline frowned slightly. "Erm--I am afraid I do not really understand. You see, I have only heard of Quidditch. I have never actually seen it being played. Would you mind explaining it to me?"

(OOC: Oh goodie ^_^)
Willow smiled. Quidditch talk made her excited.
"Well see, there are seven players on each team. There are three chasers, two beaters, one keeper and one seeker. The chasers throw around a ball called the quaffle, and score points with it by throwing it through three tall hoops. The beaters have clubs and they bat around these crazy balls called bludgers, and they try to aim it at opposing players to startle them and such. Keepers block the goal hoops so that the opponents don't get points with the quaffle. And the seeker has to find a tiny little ball called the snitch. When they catch that, the game ends, and the team that caught it gets a hundred and fifty points."
Willow had said this all rather fast, since she was feeling a slight thrill. She quickly stopped talking and looked around a little nervously, as though someone were watching.
"And...yeah...I think that's all..."

{ rofl }
"It is one-hundred, not a hundred," she muttered quietly.
Then, a bit louder, Marceline said, "Well, it certainly sounds interesting."

Willow frowned. "Er...what was that? You muttered something."
It sounded like another grammar correction. If it was so, Willow was starting to dislike this girl.

"Oh! Erm--" Marceline turned a soft pink and looked down at her hands which were placed upon her lap.
"I was just saying that--you--er--said one-hundred wrong."

That's what Willow thought.
"Do you dislike my grammar?" Willow asked. "That's the second time you've corrected me."
Willow absentmindedly reached for a small backpack at her side to get out something to do while she talked, just in case the conversation got sour. She wasn't intending on leaving the compartment.

Marceline grew an even brighter shade of pink.
"No! I--I do not dislike your grammar. I just, I mean, it is, well--" Not knowing what to say, she licked her lips and gazed out the window intently.

Willow felt it was an awkward moment, but at least she wasn't the one bringing it on.
She rummaged through her bag and pulled out a copy of Quidditch Through the Ages, one of the few books she did read. She flipped through the pages, mostly looking at pictures moving on the paper before her.
"So...are you muggle born? Half blood? Pure blood?" Willow asked conversationaly.

Marceline, grateful for the change of subject, looked back towards Willow who was skimming through a book. Glancing at the pictures, she assumed it had to do with Quidditch.
"Half. What about you?"

Willow nodded.
"I'm pure." she said. "Or well, pure blood...not that it makes all the difference. I didn't mean it to sound like I'm better or anything."
She sighed. She'd been though this book so many times, and right now it wasn't comforting her.
"It's no fair, one of my brothers is starting his third year, and he'll get to have Care of Magical Creatures classes...I think that class would be fascinating. 'Course, there's potions that I look forward to as well. My mum tought me a few things about it when I was younger."
