I can care less, and quite honestly I don't even look over my post that often. Honestly I just type as I think (yes that's how fast I am... or someone could take it and turn it around and say that's how slow I am, well at 98 words per minute I'm pretty sure I think quite speedily) so I rarely care if someone makes a few grammar mistakes as long as the meaning is intact and understandable. If someone were to post in a manner where I could not discern what their point was or what the post was about then I will point that out.

When I do let my inner Grammar Nazi out, I try not to be mean about it. I won't dismantle an arguement based on grammar, but there are some things I just won't read.
I don't really like when people rip apart an arguement based only on grammar, because it seems to me like a cop out.

SimonSmith It amuses me to insult people based on their intelligence. Barring dyslexia, there is no excuse to bastardize English. Yes, the opinions of the unintelligent hold no water in my mind. Therefore, if you forcibly sodomize English, your opinion is useless. There are a variety of reasons why one may "bastardize" English. Given most of them don't mean they're "unintelligent", I don't see how their opinion is useless.

English takes nearly every other language and makes them it's own. It is the b*****d of language. How can you bastardize a b*****d? Maybe noob is just a new version of english, to me, much like ebonics. That doesn't make it a bastardization. That makes it a new language.

Spelling mistakes sort of drag my attention away from the content sometimes, but I don't usually point it out unless their being n00b-ish anyway. And I don't really consider n00b to be a new dialect or anything. It's just annoying people being to lazy to type legibly.
Edit: Augh! I misspelled something.

Spelling tends to be a way of determining someone's education as well as the amount of effort put into a discussion. I don't think anyone wishes to converse with someone who is an idiot nor thinks the subject at hand is worth the extra bit of effort to be easily understood. And in debating, it tends to be a red flag for an idiot since for some reason or another they tend to hide their lack of understanding in an endless sea of grammatical and spelling errors. I mean playing mind games is one thing, but that...that is akin to toxic waste injected directly into my brain.
That said, humans aren't perfect and are bound to make quite a few spelling errors, especially if whatever they are responding to has them in a typing flurry. However, it can also be taken as a sign of weakness and if that spelling or grammatical error changes the meaning of their post, can completely derail them in a debate.
I don't mind the occasional error and I am more than lenient enough to let most people off even if the error does change the point trying to be made. But then again, that does depend on whether or not that person is making the effort or just flat out acting the n00b. Though it must be said that even patience has its limits...

But to say use of a bastardized language is bastardization is just kind of funny to me.

However, if you want to get technical, that's how -all- languages start.

I think noob is a bit like slang. There's a slang version of every language. Slang bothers me sometimes too, though. It's different being spoken than being written down.

I don't care that much. My dad's a bit dyslexic, and my mom's an English teacher, so spelling is kind of a joke in my family. As long as it's readable, I don't really care that much. It can be annoying, but bad spelling, grammer, punctuation, or capitalization do not make points any less valid.

I still find it morally indefensible to claim that you should have your opinions respected when you're talking like a drunken farmer composing his euology on a stone using his own piss. Honestly, you're debating, try to look like you completed pre-school. Two extra minutes won't kill you.
