see the problem is sturm is so black and white there is no gray. as i admit that he has his good moments and is wonderfully rightchus he is just pigheaded and as much as he likes the code he let's it blind him like a total moron. that is why i don't like sturm

c'mon, he must be the one knight who doesn't always think that the Code and the Measure are everything. Plus, he died so that Laurana could use the Dragon Orb and so that the knighthood could regain their honor!

Plus, he died so that Laurana could use the Dragon Orb and so that the knighthood could regain their honor! Yes, that's true. There are moments when Sturm is a pretty good character, but I still somehow just don't like him. Though he was pretty cool for doing that. 3nodding

Meh... everyone's entitled to their preferences.. I did like Sturm, but his death was a necessity... it sort of sparked the mortality awareness.. that and it's a very nice touch of "tragic" because he was the one who really wanted to prove himself worthy and he did. Even if he was a black and white character, there HAD to be one. I'm probably the only one here who likes Kitiara but whatever.. XD I have my reasons.

One of the reasons I liked Dragonlance more than LOTR, in Dragonlance, the people that are actually good characters die, not just some idiot no one cares about (I'm talking 'bout you, Boromir!) (sorry, but I often compare Dragonlance to LOTR)

Sturm, he was a great character, his ideals were pure. Even in the face of the twisted code he held true to the founding morals. He is a part of us all that most often fails to peer pressure. One needs to hold true to what they believe in. You say it is pigheadedness or being stubborn but in reality it is being true to oneself. He also shows that no matter how hard you try you can fall (Steel is proof of that) but in turn he stood up and continued to do what he felt was right.

I loved Sturm. He was so valiant and had such good morals. I nearly cried when he died. I loved him because he was so stubborn. It showed that he was loyal to what he believed and did, rather than giving into what others thought he should believe or do. As for his distrust of Raist, well, I wouldn't have exactly trusted him either. I love Raist too, but still, you must admit there were some times when you would truly doubt him if you put yourself in the other companion's shoes.

Sturm was a good charachter, but he really wasn't mentioned too much in the books. He also always seemed to be the one that would die first because there really weren't too many chances for people to understand his charachter. Also, the moustache was silly.

Yo Sturm is the greatest Knight in the series. I don't know why so many people are dissing him. He was like the ONE true tragic hero.
