I think it is the music that promotes whatever the Bible is against or Jesus would never approve of. I guess in this century that would include pop music and some rap...
As for Christian music, I like Rebecca St. James and Delirious?

Okay, here are some awesome christian bands.. all I listen to is christian, with the occasional random pop(like numa numa.. hamster dance XD) Skillet- girl drummer, rocking band <3 Switchfoot-they're less "hard rock" Thousandfootkrutch-my computer classifies them as "hard rock" nothing to do with religon, but they are a wonderful christian rock band Jeremy Camp-he's more.. calmer XD almost worship songs too Plus One-the old album, their first I think, they somehow switched from Rock to pop..unless you like pop ^^; Reliant K-great band FM Static-they sing really fast eek P.O.D is the best alternative to Linkin Park Falling up- there are no slow songs for these guys biggrin Superchic[k]- popish-rock Newsboys- my mom likes them, they're still neat. Zoegirl- old pop that I used to listen too, still do some ;3 That's all I can think of right now.. The best way is to buy a X -cd or a wow cd, x is christian rock sampler kind of thing, whenever I find a song I seriously like, I walk up and down the isles of the family christian store looking for the band's cd Hope this helps!

Music that is good or bad all depends on who you are and how much you listen to it. Most songs you hear on popular radio stations nowadays are filled with messages about sex, drugs, murder, cheating, and everything ungodly. Yes, there are meny good nonchristian bands out there. I listen to some of The Rasmus, Evanscene, and Linkin Park. Evanscene is a superb band to listen to, even though they keep proclaiming they aren't a christian band, their songs has blantly christian messages. One song they have is named Bring Me To Life, and that song has a very clear Godly message. Here's the chorus, Wake me up, Wake me up inside, Wake me up inside, Call my name and save me from my own, Wake me up inside, Before I come undone, Save me from the nothing I've become, Bring me to life The only thing with New age seqular music is that if it has a bad message, you can't fill your head with only that kind. If you balance that kind of music with Christian music, you are less likely to stray from the lord. For what fills the mind, soon fills the heart. If you like hard rock, here are some christian bands who do that, Pillar, Kutlass, Skillet, Sanctus Real, That's all I know of now but just remember that balancing the music you listen to is the best way to do it. God bless ya!

Personally I believe that all Non-christian music is bad. There is a verse somewhere in the book of laws it has a verse that goes something like this (I read it two years ago so I don't remember it perfectly) "You should not (as in don't, not a suggestion, just how stuff in the Bible is stated a lot) let any ungodly words come to your ears" or something like that.
Also, for good Christian music, I listen to: Relient K - Overall best musicians I listen to. Fm Static - Best lyrics I listen to, and I can play their music biggrin Stellar Kart - More of an upity sound, less sad songs than Fm Static and Relient K
Bands I only listen to on rare occasion: Third Day - Just good. Switchfoot - Ok.
There you go!
God Bless!
