The MANGA is better anyday! It's the original! When I write fanfics, I ALWAYS refer to that over the anime. Quote: Oh yeah? What else does he voice? He also was in Barbie and the Nutcracker! He was the Nutcracker. Get this: Sango's dubbed VA was Barbie! They were the couple in Barbie. rofl. Makes me picture Ken asking Barbie to bear his children...anyways... Wb-chan, you basically explained everything that I was gonna point out. >.< lol. I would like to point out that the fourth movie is the ONLY movie where the anime directors and animators worked on it. Every other movie was made by other animators. That's why Kagome and etc. looked so weird. And one thing want to point out in the first movie about Kikyou. Wb-chan, you forgot to mention that Kikyou pushed Kagome down the well. That made her seem a little "b***h-ish" to those that only watch the anime. I understand her reasoning behind it...but still...I can't see manga!Kikyou to do that. Another plus about the anime. One word. MUSIC. Their music such as "Fukai Mori" got me into J-Pop. I LOVE EVERY INUYASHA THEME! But...that's a different topic. lol. Another thing is how awesome their Japanese seiyuu are. The dubbed is...eww... I know some people who don't read the manga because they would rather "see moving pictures" than read. They are too LAZY to read. sweatdrop Besides that, I love the manga so much more than the anime.

I guess specifics never hurt anyone...maybe? | ♥♥♥

I'm going to have to agree with the people in saying the anime is... eh. I think the reason it's so "blah" is because, in order to have a good show that will appeal to a variety of people aside from hardcore fans, you need to mess with characters a bit. You need to have characters to hate, characters who piss people off, characters for people to be annoyed with, and for people to love and cherish. I find Kikyou in the anime to be damn near the most annoying person in the world. But in the manga, I find her less so. So, of course, character design is mildly (*coughhack*) butchered for the sake of ratings.
I will say this for the third movie: It was pretty. It was the only one I actually liked. I've watched it a number of times, if only for the pretty. I think what the anime producers were trying to do there, though, is force Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha to work together. Clearly, that was the goal is Sounga could only be beaten by combining the powers of Tessaiga and Tenseiga.
And really, if you look at it as a stand alone movie (which I do for all Inuyasha movies), it's actually a fairly well done piece of work. The plot is interesting, feasible, and still somewhat deep. Yes, there are some inconsistency of character (Sesshoumaru and Kagome, as has been said), but altogether, it wasn't half bad.
But in all honesty, I prefer the manga. Sometimes. Rumiko Takahashi's art style sometimes makes me want to claw my eyes out. Honestly, it depends on which day of the month it is.

Aw, I actually like her style, mostly because it's one of the few styles out nowadays that doesn't overpower the story with crazy awesome, beautiful artwork. Don't get me wrong, I love the artwork in manga like Angel Sanctuary and Paradise Kiss and whatnot, but sometimes because of the artwork the story gets kinda... lost? Anyone get what I'm saying? Anyone understand? lol. I think her artwork works also because her stuff is mostly slap-stick. Where Inuyasha isn't MOSTLY slapstick, there's still a lot of it in there. ^.^ Her art is just a nice break from most of the manga out there.

I think I just find it too old school. There's nothing wrong with old school. I love a lot of older anime and manga. It just rubs me the wrong way. It's like an author's style. I can't stand reading Tolkien because of his style and his voice. I wish I could, because I really want to read the books, but his personal style makes me crazy.

Yeah, I can understand that. There are some manga styles that I won't bother reading because of the art style. And I'm not a big fan of Tolkien's writting, either... I tried to... I couldn't get through the Hobbit.... *cries*

ACK!! Don't even get me started on Tolkien!! I read those books when I was... 12? Always... I really loved the stories, but it's becuse they were SO IN DETAIL that it took me forever to get through one of them. Gees... that guy could be describing a hole and it would still take him a couple of pages to explain it...

They're like strict guide lines. xp I don't think I'd ever read a book of his twice.

I agree with the too-much detail. There needs to be a certain amount of balance between what is explained and what is left up to imagination.

Well here's my thinking on the matter... I like the manga because it's pretty much the foundation for the anime, and without it there may not be any Inuyasha anime. But the anime is equally cool, because there's no motion in manga and things are often clearer with movement. On one condition, that is. The manga is good. But there's two sides to the anime: English and Japanese. In my mind, the english dub sucks crap, and I'd rather watch the Japanese ones, which are much better and truer to the actual story/plot thing, on the internet with subs. But that's with almost any anime...I most often refuse to watch anime in english nowadays, now that I've found out how much better the Japanese versions are. Well, that's all I have to say about that...

Oh yes, and I forgot to add something...one thing that makes me like the manga a little bit more, is the Inuyasha anime has no real ending!!
It's freaking annoying me... stressed

Haha! I've never watched the anime all the way through. Once in a while I'll catch an episode or two on Adult Swim, but other than that, I tend to avoid it.
I did hear, however, that the ending sucked. But what can you expect form a animated series that started before the manga was ever finished? *shrugs*
