One technique I would recommend your friend to do is practice the art of Lucid Dreaming. It is the ability to be conscience while dreaming. It may sound weird, but it works. *shrugs* I've tried it and I mean...I just don't know how to describe the feeling to you...All the nightmares you have won't be nightmares. Heh, last night I had a nightmare, but changed it. Long story short, tell her to check out Lucid Dreaming. I would recommend some sites, but I'm not too sure on what exactly the TOS is about posting links to other sites and also Lucid dreaming is a lot more than someone telling you about it. It takes practice. Practice. Practice.

It's just a stress problem, I know from personal experience that stress can transform a dream into a monster...trying to "scare" you into making a good decision.
I suggest going over the dream with her and taking it piece by piece while trying to find any obvious clues to which problem it might refer to. (try to remember to use it metaphorically as well)
