pook666 Cherry Milkshake Kalyah It's true that it seems very strange and I'm not really sure it's the truth but I've read it in a magazine about horses. Really? Do you still have the magazine so we can all see for ourselves? You don't need to see any articles, because if they exist at all they're definately a joke. You can't cross-breed two totally different mammals, no matter how much money you have to spend. Even if a hippo-horse did exist, it probably couldn't help sea rescuers in the first place. Hippos don't even swim well. They float and when underwater they walk along the bottom. Hippos don't live in very deep water. Hippos are also super dangerous. I can't imagine a hippo-horse would be able to help with sea rescues if it did exist. It's probably a lame joke. Hippopotamus means "river horse." Maybe someone got confused about the name. Really....

It's not just unbelievable. It's physically impossible.
They don't have the same amount of chromosomes to intermix. Humans have 48 chomosomes, you get 24 from your mom and 24 for your dad. Horses have 32(?) and Hippo's are somewhere up in the 100s'.
There will never be a hippo-horse.
Period.

They don't have the same amount of chromosomes to intermix. Humans have 48 chomosomes, you get 24 from your mom and 24 for your dad. Horses have 32(?) and Hippo's are somewhere up in the 100s'.
There will never be a hippo-horse.
