when i had rad pretty much all the Star wars and star trek books at my library i then was incredibly bored and read the legend of Huma and was addicted then i read all my library had of Dragonlance and read all they had of Forgotten Realms and now i'm incredibly bored

It was January of 1997 and one of my good friends bought me the first in the Chronicles for my birthday. As a major fantasy freak, I of course loved it and had to buy the rest and read those.
And later that year, that same friend introduced me to D&D. *Ah* no idea where I'd be without him. Thank you!

My brother actually began to read Search for Power. He didn't understand that it was a short stories collection, so he dropped it after the fist story. I began to read it and fell in love with the dragons and minotaurs. I didn't really understand what I had read, but when I was finished, I picked up another Dragonlance novel and continued to read them. It is my goal, like most others I think, to read all the novels! I'm about a third of the way their.

That's my goal too! But I'm not very far. I've only read the 11 main ones, The Soulforge, Brothers in Arms, Dragons of the Dwarven Depths, and the first two in the Dragons of a New Age trilogy.

themasterofpastandpresent bludrgn0 thank you guys for saying that my experience is awsome! blaugh It is awsome! I know I'd love it if my family liked Dragonlance! That would so pwn! Then I'd force them to convert the house into a replica of the Tower of High Sorcery at Palanthas. I'd even get a dummy in black robes to spear itself on our fence (which we don't have...). But seriously, I did try to get them to convert the house, and needless to say, I failed. crying whee But when I'm old enough to have my own house (which will be a long way in coming, seeing as how I'm only 13), I'm gonna buy a tower-type one and convert it. And it will PWN!!!!! mrgreen *gasp* I am SO gonna do that too! I've already started a (small) list of magic from the books, and I'm good at making stuff.... heheheh...... although, like you, I've got awhile to go before I get my own house... I'm 15 the Sunday! (Tax Day... and the day Lincoln died... I don't care for the day too much) But yeah, I... lets see..... how DID I get into Dragonlance??? um.... methinks I was just wondering around teh public library... lol. Or wait, No! I was at Books a Million (or was it Barnes and Nobles?) and I saw Dragons of Autumn Twilight and thought it looked cool, so I bought it. I'm a MAJOR bibliophile, I buy anything that looks good from the store, as long as I have enough money. lol.

Actually... mine is really rather funny. I was staying at my lake cabin for a week during the summer before seventh grade, and I had finished reading both books that I brought along. So the next time we went into town, there was a flea market of sorts, and there was a lady selling all sorts of books. I picked up The Hobbit (which I hadn't read yet, nor any of the LoTR series), and I decided I needed one more, so I just picked up Dragons of Autumn Twilight, because I liked the cover. I really hadn't read anything from this sort of genre before, and I thought it might be interesting. I brought it back, sat outside in the sun and read it non-stop for hours. I got a really bad sunburn because of it, but I've been in love with Dragonlance ever since xD

In 2001, he told me about the books, but couldn't remember the name of the series. 2 years later, we saw a copy of Dragons of Autumn Twillight. My dad, realizing what it was, bought it for me, because I liked those type of books. I liked the book, and I now have what my doctor calls an unhealthy addicition.

I got hooked on dragonlance in seventh grade when I was at the library. Saw dragonds of autumn twilight and read the sequals, then all of the short story collections and one of the chronicles, and then bought all the war of the twins bookss and then read the war of souls set too. I'm hooked now

themasterofpastandpresent I've just been wondering, how did everyone get started reading Dragonlance? I'm sure most of you started because of D&D, but I donno...I'm bored and curious (lol I'm Kender-like when I'm bored...) I got started purely by accident. It actually kind of scares me how easily I could have never started reading Dragonlance... I was at a garage-sale in my neighborhood one day, and me, being the bibliophile I am, was rummiging through the box full of books. Most of them were crap. But there was one that looked cool. It was Dragon Wing, the first volume in the Death Gate Cycle. Me, being obsessed with anything related to dragons, bought it and read it and looked for more. I soon finished the Death Gate Cycle, and wanted to read more by the same authors. So I went to the library, and searched, and a whole bunch of Dragonlance books popped up (I was searching on a computer) and I read them and was addicted and that is my story. But if I had simply overlooked Dragon Wing, or went to a different garage-sale, or stayed home that day, I would probably have never read Dragonlance. I would have never became a Raist fangirl. Scary thought (though probably a happy thought for Raist...) wow i lerned about it from u ^^ well u...and anna thanx^^
