Shinobi_1977 We've all done it from time to time, spilled food or liquid into our keyboards. What's the worst thing you've ever let fall between your keys? I've never had anything major, just some sauce and bread crumbs. I can usually get them out quickly. Nothing. I've never gotten anything in my keyboard other than dust. Ever. Oh, and my video card died. So now... I talk to you from the awesome power of an FX53 and TNT2 combo. xd

Hard-boiled egg.
But that's second to this one: Snot.
Yes, snot.
I was typing up something, and then all of the sudden, Aa... Aah... CHOO!
And I guess I had a cold, because when I thought I could hold all the snot back, NO!
HUGE WADS off it went in my keyboard. I was frantic. I used my fingers, my shirt sleeve, ran and got towels.
I was never able to get it all out..
To think there's some dry snot in my keyboard.... sweatdrop

Rumour has it that you can put keyboards in the dish washer as long as you turn off the hot water and dry cycles. Just hope you don't have hard water- the minerals can leave behind deposits. Solution: don't wear arousing things when washing your keyboard.

I hate you so much...
... He's onto me..! -runs away-
Anyway, no, It didn't occur to me to unplug it and wash it. It's cordless and... I never heard about the dishwasher thing. At this is brand new, practically, so I wouldn't want to test out a rumor... stare

Of course, perhaps removing the power source and using a water pick filled with isopropyl alcohol to clean it would be a better option? Or just wait for it to dry and blast the encrusted snot free with canned air. Or, use q-tips and a tooth brush. Just make sure you don't use your tooth brush, unless you like eating boogers.

[Q] Q Tips wouldn't fit. I tried. >_< Did you try using a toothpick? Just make sure you totally DON'T put the toothpick back in the back later. If that doesn't work, use a cyclotronic inverter employing capacitive reluction on the bridge circuit. That may work. Don't eat that either, though. If all else fails, you could put the keyboard key side down and take it apart or something. Just make sure you take a digital picture of the keyboard if you can't remember where the keys go if you knocked them astray.

Dude. It happened like a few months a go. I'm sure it was dried up and eaten by microscopic parasites since then. stare

You just want to make sure they don't mutate into something that eats plastic, otherwise you could be out of a keyboard. It happend to a friend of mine, actually.

Usually my luch goes down there. Never spilled coffee yet but someone at work has done it twice to the same person. What makes it worse is that the victim has to use a special keyboard that splits in two cause of injuries. sweatdrop

Air. I say this because just randomly, I woke up one morning (two mornings ago to be exact) and my freaking keyboard was dead. I took it apart and nothing visable was wrong with it. I just assme that the thing got too much air and died.

I just assme that the thing got too much air and died. Just as is with all the aforementioned circumstances, a simple "keyboard condom" could've prevented this trajedy. Meanwhile, I want one.
