The soldiers know exactly what they're getting into and the risks they take. They know whats on the line.
Its the weepy @$$holes back home who don't have a military fiber in their bodies (or a spine, for that matter) who act like we f*cking DRAFTED em.

Now that they're there, yes, they probably realized it. There's no way to prove that every one of the soldiers knew beforehand. : Many of them likely didn't have many other choices economically.
I agree somewhat with your original post, but you seem to have gotten a bit off topic. Despite how many letters you've read, there's no guarantee that every one of them feels exactly the same way, even if it is the majority.
As for the protesters here, well, they are Americans. Sensible enough that the ones back home would want them back safely. <3 Rufu

Well, I will have to disagree about people not having any choices economically. So far, all the people I've known who signed up actually wanted to do it, for various reasons. Often in contradiction of their loved ones wishes, sadly.

No, sometimes soldiers need to go into the army just to contemplate college and stuff like that.
You know, take your four years (is that it? I can't remember) and get into the college of your choice, pretty much free. Ish.

Roufette No, sometimes soldiers need to go into the army just to contemplate college and stuff like that. You know, take your four years (is that it? I can't remember) and get into the college of your choice, pretty much free. Ish. Yeah. o_o; I mean.. some people join the army because they can't afford or are avoiding college. I'm not sure of the specifics, but I'm fairly certain the army gives you tuition. <3 Rufu

The GI Bill does help with tuition, along with many other benefits.
I just don't know anyone personally who has signed up just to take advantage of those.

Setsuchi You do not seem to understand that the longer we stay there the more they resent us... No they don't. Their have been so many people from Irag who go on youtube speaking English saying that they love the US. They have no animocity towards us, and they do not wish us dead. The only ones who do are the terrorist bastards who will want us dead anyway. Sorry setsuchi but I had to spread the truth.

Most Iraqis, while they don't want us dead, probably want us out. I've read articles where average people talk about bombing us. AVERAGE ones. They have some pretty heavy hate for us.
