xellos metallium65 The Bible is nothing but stupid, made up Mythology, Half the s**t in it makes No since, and are impossible to do, For instance; Being swallowed by a Giant Fish and then spit back up after a long journy inside of it..... The guy would of died the moment he was swollowed cause of the stomach Acid, I think the bible was written by stupid Haters and Most of the world belives them and say they dont "Hate" but they snarl every time a couple of the same sex want to get married stare theres my opinion No, the Bible is full of truths (me in my role again). Of course you can be swallowed by a fish and survive. Pinocchio survived, right? Besides, how else would the world have been created?

I personally don't care. Gay people don't bother me and there are other issues in the world that are more important than haveing to decide weather or not we should or should not legalize gay marriage. I can't even believe sometimes that this is an issue discused at the govenrment level. We need to be worried about global warming and how much longer it will be before we take action to do something about it.
There is no legitaminte excuse in my mind for us to make gay marriage illegal. The bible is just a book of fairy tales...
Bible passages describing same-sex marriage:
There are none! You can scan from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation, and not see even a single same-sex marriage mentioned.
My aunt is a huge anti-gay Marriage advocate. (That's why she voted for Bush she said) scream I got into it with her.
She said that Gay marriage is wrong. Wrong to to who? To you? And who are you to judge anyone?
No one can say that it's wrong to God, cuz frankly no one know God.
I don't care what literatures are in the bible talking about what God wants, no one knows. No one has ever met God and lived to tell about it. ...Well there's Mosses...
oh yeah... and there are 10 commandments...
but noone of those say anything about how God feels about same-SEx Marriage.
I'll give ya that, that Mosses actually spoke with God, and that he wasn't just triping on somekind of hallucinagent.
I'm just rambaling my thoughts. lol

I don't really know where I stand on the topic to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I believe love is love. If you love someone, that is all that should matter. Still, too many people bring religion into play on these things (I, myself try my best not to. I sway more towards Paganism if anything, but it seems Christianity is in our face no matter where we turn these days)
I suppose the only reason I say I don't know where I stand on it is why should a wedding ring/license make so much difference in a person's life? Several companies, including the one I work for, have started to offer benefits for non married couples just as they do for married ones. Kansas and Missouri (I only know since I live in Missouri near the MO/KS border) have had debates over if 'life partners' should receive benefits just as married couples do. I honestly don't remember the outcome...
Like I said, religion plays a huge part in today's society, whether people admit it or not. I'm almost ashamed to say my husband is horribly closed minded on these things and feels same sex relations are wrong (Against the Bible, not natural, disgusting ( rolleyes ) blah blah blah...) Personally, as far as the Bible debate is concerned, it was a book written by a man. Not to bring religion into this debate (Although it seems it already has been ^_^) I just don't see how an almighty being, who has created us from love and in his own image, would condemn his children for loving another. Also, consider the fact that Christianity was not the first religion, it was developed from others, including Greek and Roman... Both of which had their main deities (Zeus and Apollo to name a few) engage in homosexual relationships.
Now I feel like I'm rambling, and I really have no idea where I was going with this. I hope I haven't confused or insulted anyone. heart

I agree with your point on religion, besides SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE, ANYONE? Religion may not be a factor in this discussion because of it. In the Netherland, my country, gay marriage is allowed, like I said before, while for than half of our political parties are Christian. So it doesn't have to be like that. Why is homosexuality disgusting when it occurs in nature? It's quite easy to find articles on the internet about gay penguins in zoos, is that unnatural? And if I hear anybody say that, and I quote: 'A plug only fits in a socket', I'm gonna get pissed. I've heard that comment before and how dare anybody compare humans to a man-made object?! People aren't rational, look Freud up and you'll see. In fact, religion is merely a quest for answers, very psychological, therefore it brings up 'rational' answers, as in non-empirical; like Plato, he said things that he could prove with his mind were right, but experiments prove that they aren't. I ask you not to insult my religion, there is no place for that in a debate. You're taking the Bible too literally. I am a rare breed, a gay Christian. I've talked with God and he's ok with who I am. Onto the real point. Where I live in the US same sex marriage is banned. It's to protect the "sanctity" of marriage. To protect the sanctity, they need to be worried about "gold diggers" and such. Marriage is about love, not gender. If we're in a country with freedom of religion and equal rights for all, then why are we forcing a religious belief on people as well as taking rights away. Same sex couples can't even ADOPT in some places here. If you want to be a Christian, then be one, talk to others about your belief's, don't force them on others though.

^^Something like that.XD The universe then? Hydrogen atoms everywhere. The smallest of atoms which make up the other atoms which make up EVERYTHING. In order for them to create other atoms they need to move and create friction to produce a lot of heat to create fusion (or fission ^^; ) Going by the law that "an object at rest remains at rest unless acted upon by an outside force" what started this motion? XD Um....We should be allowed to marry whom ever we want!

I'm for gay marriages.
I think people should marry who they want, opposite gender or not.
And I'm sure there's a lot of conflict over this because of religion and such but everything has to contradict itself at one point or another.
God wants people happy, but some believers find happiness in being with the same sex rather than the opposite. The bible says it's wrong but it makes the believers kind of... confused and sad-ish. So what to do, what to do?
So, hey, why not?

heart Love and commitment are beautiful things and everyone should be entitled to join in marriage with the person of their choosing!! 3nodding
This debate does revolve around the gay - anti-gay sentiments. If there were no anti-gay sentiments in this world - this marriage debate wouldn't even exist! - - and the majority of the anti-gay sentiments that I have come acrossed are from strong christian conservative thinkers. They believe that Gay is a choice - something a person can change? No!!! scream I have many gay friends and aquaintances - some have lived straight lives in their younger days in an attempt to repress this "unnatural desire" for joining with a person of the same sex - Most all have told me that they knew they were gay from the time that they became sexually aware - They also never found the satisfaction nor fullfilment in a straight relationship but did in their gay relationships.
Who would choose this life that causes them to stand out in society to be shamed and ridiculed by ignorant talk2hand pirate talk2hand - To be riddled by sideways glances and glares or stares every day?
I have faith in God - God is Love - That is the common thread throughout all faiths - Islam, Judism, Buddism, Christianity - - of all people - We are all sisters and brothers - children of God - loved!!

I'm having a discussion in a highly Christian guild on the topic and opinions are more divided. Some say God loves all of us, while some say "Die,gay peoplie, die. Suffer in hell!" (not literally). It's odd to see how much those people believe in God and how far they go to sustain their beliefs. I'm currently in a discussion on evolution and I've already explained evolution around 5 times, and still they ask the same questios which I've already answered, annoying! stare
