I listened to a few songs and I found the vocals ok and the music ok, but the lyrics were horrible. I can't listen to them.

My Hollow I found the vocals horrible, the lyrics horrible, and the music horrible. LOL, still it's quite 'catchy' and very nice for relaxing on your way to another business meeting. Oh well... Though I agree that the vocals could be a bit better.

I think the music is good, the vocals are great (except for the barking by Mark), and the lyrics are PUTRID HORRIBLE!
Too bad for Epica, they started great, and went downfall.

I'm going to say this now to get it out there. I'm the type of person that can listen to pretty much any metal or even heavier rock band, and find something I like about it, and have a hard time detesting bands.
Getting that out of the way, I liked Epica, The Divine Conspiracy (2007) was actually a pretty good album, and the songs that got me hooked on them (Mother of Light and Dance of Fate) are ones I still listen to fairly often.

I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Epica. Certain songs are wonderful, like Another Me, Mother Of Light, Quietus, and Never Enough. But then other songs are just terrible, like Sensorium. whee
