Zoologist: I completely agree with you about the children losing a valuable part of their childhood. I mean, I can understand why younger children look up to their older siblings, but attempting to dress like them is simply ridiculous. I just don't understand why children are willing to forgo their inherent innocence that easily. (by saying inherent innocence, I mean in the way that most children are perceived to be innocent.) What these girls are choosing to do is molding themselves into the worst stereotypes of teenage girls.

Crocs definitely....why are they so popular? I have this friend who wears them, but I think he does only because they are the ugliest thing on this planet. Ha ha.

Elementary school is probably a good experience for most people because most kids don't form friendships then based on what you wear. Middle school, for me, was a horrible thing I had to adjust to. I don't know why they want to be pushed into that life so much sooner than they have to.
And they really are exactly like current teenagers, I see them at the mall (alone?!), always gossiping and they've got somebody else's money to spend. Maybe it's got something to with myspace ( xd ), because they all have them now. D:

I'm homeschooled now, so usually when I go to the mall it's just so I can have some company - my dad, mom, or sister usually. Especially if it's my parents, because then I don't have to buy my own food. :3
I've always liked that better than going with a 'group of friends', because in my experience, the group usually turns into pairs, or somebody is always left out.

Another Trend: I hate shirts that say things like "This is What Cute Looks Like" or "I'm a Princess" or "It's not easy looking this good". It's really annoying to me becuase I think it's really cheesy. Everytime I see "older" girls wearing them, I scream in my head saying "No, you're not a Princess." and stuff like that. Especially if it's just words with no pattern. It just gets on my nerves because it's just so plain and predictable now. I don't mind if it's a little 5 year old girl wearing it but if you're a growing woman, you don't wear shirts that saying cheesy lines on them. No offence if you wear it though. I know it's very common so I apoligize if you we're offended. sweatdrop

Zoologist: Ha, myspace. Just another reason to add to my list of why I can't stand the site. Basically at my elementary school, everyone was friends with everyone. I mean, of course they'd be the "popular" people, but it's not like they'd never associate with you or anything. I completely despised middle school. That was the time when everyone actually developed a personality, which unfortunately were those of "rich bitches." I live in a fairly rich town, and I don't mean to sound like a brat, but I hate it...actually more like hate the attitude that everyone has (taking their BMWs, Lexus's, Mercedes', etc for granted, and such). Anyway, middle school was the time when I started to become a loathing little girl who realized how flawed society was and always wore black. (I don't wear all black now, but I guess I just over thunk everything and hated people for not realizing the bigger problems in the world.) Anyways, what I'm trying to get at is that middle school was a terrible time for myself as well.
Saint Monica: I have deep respect for you for not allowing yourself to fall into the bottomless pit that is teen society. I shop with my younger sister and my mom too, so yay! Haha, those shirts make me laugh. In the "I've got no respect for you" way. The only person who I've seen that can pull it off is this guy at my school that has a shirt that says, "This is what awesome looks like" Normally, I'd think it was dumb, but if you knew this kid, there's only one word to describe him. "Awesome."
I can't stand those girls that wear shirts that say "This is what cute looks like" though. Because they mean it in the way that isn't referring to a cute little girl.

I hate crocs but the worst fashion trend ever had to be DayGlo. You know the glow in the dark leggings, ties, and shoes that people wore in the 80's! Also Id have to say the "everything denim" trend of the 90's... whee
