Well, it was a few lightnings and then he fell. He wasn't like up there for hours, more like 10 seconds or so.

it was just his body. When the flesh dies (because all of his life energy had been dispelled), it's really soft, but it will hold together until it say hits the ground and then will break into an ash like substance. Does that even make any sense? An example would be like dead snake skin, it's really fragile and would easily crumple if you handled it too hard.

its dramatic effect, nothing more nothing less, try not to read into it, when u have series like dbz u need to constantly out-do your former plot

It's probably more of a dirt-clump substance (e.g. you can throw clumps at people and when the hit they disentigrate).

I look at it as the dried fruit effect. A dried fruit has all the juices and soul, as I put, taken out of it. This happens when it's dried. It shribbles up into nothing but an outer core and some stuff inside.

Vegeta's body had taken a lot of stress from his attack, like the fruit from the heat drying it. After all is done, the fruits are left with the outer skin and body, and is all shribbled up because all the life is taken out of it. In Vegeta's case, his body turns to stone or whatever it is for the same reason of the fruit.

I know this has nothing to do with the question, but that's the way I see it. sweatdrop

Well i think its like firewood or coal. it looks solid but it can break up in to small pieces and then can be crumbled into nothing but ash. It would make sense too, Vegeta was the wood or coal and the fire was his explosion so all that is left is a hard ash which can break up and crumble away to nothing. Just played about with my fire and the solid looking ash and it came to my mind that it could be a good answer for this topic sweatdrop

He became a form of stone, sandstone seems the most likely due to it being solid and then crumbling easily into dust and being blown away.

This happened as a result of what is now called by DBZ fans all over as his FINAL FINALE, a move so powerful and deadly, it kills the user (Vegeta) when used, and as such, you only get ONE shot with it.

Because Vegeta put all he had and all he was into that one attack, all his anger, pride, and power, when he was done, there was nothing left of him, he had used himself and all he was to try and kill Majin Buu, hence why, for such a selfless sacrifice, he got to keep his body for a short time, as King Yamma decided where to send Vegeta. (And later return Vegeta to Earth to try and stop Buu)

But every character in the seires could do it, so it can't be his final finale coz everyone can do it, its normally reffered to as self destruct or something like that can't remember the word

Vegeta sacrifices his life in against Majin Buu, as everyone knows. After this event, we *know* Vegeta's dead, and we see his body. A grey, cracky, body which falls down, breaks in pieces and get's blown away by the wind.

Was Vegeta made from stone or ash at that moment?

Most people believe stone, but how could stone get blown away? And, how could he turn into stone? o.o

My personal thought is that he turned into ashes, he blew himself up (think: Very hot blast) and he get's blown away by the wind. I think it makes more sense.

What do you think? For the people who don't know what I'm talking about, here are some pics:
