Leora smiled to McClane and nodded. "I'm a bit nervous, but i'm sure we'll pull through this." she said unsure. She really wasn't sure if they were going to pull through or not, but she knew that she would give it her all. Leora remained quiet for the moment as she attempted to relax for the moment. She felt a little calm as they drove on. She wondered how long it would take until they got to enemy territory. She didn't bother to ask, they would get there when they got there.

((Blockage forgive me!!)) Sabeth began humming the little soldiers hymn she had learned a while ago, seeing who would join in.

Turning his head towards Sabeth's seat a smile pased over McClane's face. Listening to the tune to catch up on the rhythm, McClane joined her, making sure her voice was audible over his. He figured some music is exactly what the squad needed to prepare themselves for what was before them. They were a little over half way to the base. They would stop outside of it from a distance that would prevent detection and foot it from there.

Eriku listened to the two humming merrily along. She liked the sound of the song, but had never heard of it, so stayed silent. Suddenly the truck jerked as a tire ran into a pot-hole, causing all the passengers to jerk sharply forward. Eriku blinked, not bad for such a long drive, it could have been much worse. She looked over her shoulder. "Almost there, any last minute prepirations should be done now."
She swallowed hard, this was it, her first mission and a CONFLICT's member. 'Don't screw it up' She commanded herself.

Leora would have jerked into the air, but she was strapped tightly to her seat. She heard Eriku's voice carry through the vehicle; they were almost there. Leora listened to the humming of McClane and Sabeth, but like Eriku, stayed silent. The humming did calm her down, and singing was one of Leora's talents, but Leora was to nervous to even attempt at it. She mentally prepared herself for the mission, she couldn't let anyone down. She would never forgive herself if someone got hurt or they failed the mission because of her.

Leora looked up and said without looking over her shoulder. "Heh, i'm ready, what about you guys?" she said as she loaded her M-9.

Sabeth flexed her fists. Which her bandaged in strong white cloth. She patted her leg down and felt her dagger in her boot. "Yep." she said checking to make sure her gun wasn't loaded yet.

McClane continued the tune Sabeth had started, it relaxed him some. He loaded a clip into his L-85 and pulled back on the bolt, allowing his humming to become quiet so he could hear the satisfying sound of the gun locking.

After loading his weapon, McClane looked towards Leora, speaking calmly.
"I've been ready since I applied for this. We can't be having any nervous feelings now, just stick close to me and you'll be fine." With that, he turned in his position to face the front of the vehicle, putting both of his feet where he had been sitting and standing up so that half of his body was exposed through the gunner hole.

Feeling the wind rush against his helmet, he took in a breath of air. It was warm and dry. The area the base was located wasn't too far off from the guild, but the climate of the area was quite odd, cold in some places, hot in others.

Speaking through the microphone located in his helmet, McClane's voice could be heard through a speaker near the GPS of the Ultra.
"Only take us about another half-mile or so, Eriku. I don't want us to get spotted. We aren't armed to take on a whole base."

Struggling to aim through the scope of his rifle because of the bumpy terrain they were traveling over, he looked out towards the base, still unable to see it, though he knew it was there.

Eriku drove another half mile as instructed then parked the truck so that it wasn't noticable to the enemy guild. She unbuckled herself and turned to the others. "Alright guys, let's do this." She heaved herself out of the vehicle, landing smoothly on the ground.

Sabeth sighed and grinned. ((I didn't stop humming...)) She ended the slight song and looked out the window. "Eruka? The base... is thataway..." she said pointing east. "thats possibly why you couldn't see it. THere are mounds... I suggest we stop here, Sir. Land mines up ahead." she said through the intercom.

((Sorry for posting again so quickly. sweatdrop ))

Eriku looked at Sabeth with a frown, apparently the girl didn't realized that she'd hidden behind the mound intentionally. But Eriku didn't bother to correct her, bragging and begging for recignition wasn't her style. But she did wonder about the land mines, she hadn't been aware there would be any on this mission.
Eriku turned to McClane to see what he would say, but suddenly before she could stop herself a breif thought crossed her mind. 'I wonder what he looks like underneath his helmet. . .' She shook her head, those kinds of questions were best left for free time at the guild.

((YOu never said anything about a mound or anything of the sort.... YOu make me feel stupid... crying ))

Leora exited the Ultra and joined her comrades behind the mound where Eriku had parked. She took a brief moment to examine the area, along with the enemy base over yonder. Sabeth could be possibly right about those land mines. Leora made sure to watch where she stepped. She leaned in and whispered quietly. "Ready to move out at anytime, what are the orders?" she asked. She wondered what tactic they would use: possibly split up, move in groups, or maybe all together.

((Yes, she did mention the mound. She said she parked the Ultra so it wouldn't be seen, in other words, behind the mound.))

((Now girls, I wouldn't want to have to separate you three. wink ))

It was at this time that McClane was thankful he had brought females on the mission with him. He himself hadn't even noticed the mines and an aggressive soldier would've tried to rush in towards the base. Sabeth's perception of the environment had saved them a lot of hurt, though McClane liked to think that he would've spotted the mines, had he gotten closer. He couldn't escape "every" bit of arrogance caused by being male and especially by being human, though he often wished he could.

Crossing his arms, McClane gazed over the minefield. There was really no way they could take around it. The Osprey itself would be perfect for this mission, they could para-drop right in. Shaking his head, McClane remembered that he couldn't get sidetracked, he had to work with what he had.

Looking his team over, his gaze fell upon Leora. Tilting his head a little, he glanced towards the Ultra and back to her, he had a plan.

Pulling out a cord from one of his pockets, McClane plugged one end into his helmet, tossing the other to Leora. Looking to the others he spoke.
"Eriku, Sabeth. I want you two to scout out the area and make sure we don't have anymore surprises. Do not venture into that minefield. I don't care how good you think you are at spotting them, that is an order."

Turning back to Leora, he continued. "As for you.... We're going to put your hacking skills to the test. The computer in the Ultra can be used similar to how a regular one can. I'm not sure if it is possible, but we're going to link up my helmet to the computer and try to give my visor the ability to detect the mines. It can already do the same for jets, so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to for mines as well."

Smiling a little behind his helmet, McClane moved towards the Ultra, turning his head to speak to Leora once more. "Just so you know to be careful, my helmet is linked to the nano machines inside of me. If something goes wrong, it could cause harm to my body. However, I trust you Leora." Controlling the visor with his mind, McClane made it retract into his helmet, revealing only his hazel eyes. Catching Leora's gaze with his own, he spoke again, the tone of his voice not that of a commander, but of something else. "I trust you."

Lowering his visor again, McClane plugged himself into the Ultra, waiting for Leora to begin and watching the others flawlessly carry out their assigned task.

Sabeth nodded at him and moved out first crawing up to the top of the mound. She looked out at the mine and could have sworn she saw the garage they mightve kept the Ospray in. SHe sighed and crawled back down. She moved along the mound keeping low enough so that she couldn't be seen.

((RAWR!!! Attacks the two...))

((WOAH! *Jumps aside* I apologize for the misunderstanding, I'm not quite sure what I did wrong. I simply said that I parked the truck behind a mound so it wouldn't be seen. WHY ARE WE FIGHTING OVER SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS THAT!? gonk ))

Eriku army crawled after Sabeth, leading was not her thing, so she was quite content with following the girl. Every now and then Eriku cast a glance over her shoulder at her other two comrades. She had never heard McClane speak in that kind of tone before. 'I wonder. . .' She thought silently, but before she could complete the question she shook her head with a single violent jerk. No! Now was not the time to think about such trivial matters. She turned to face the front again, eyes stern as she scanned the area for any signs of danger.
Suddenly Eriku felt an unexpected wave of homesickness pass over her. Sneaking around had been something she had often done as a ninjitsu teacher, and she suddenly felt right at home in the dirt next to the female soldier. Her eyes saddened, but she continued to crawl, she couldn't abandon the mission.
