I dress like REALLY watered down ganguro or decora...or a mix.....(dont ask) and everyone in my town looks at me like im an alien or something. Some people tell me I look cute...some ask "Why do you have your hair like that?" or something...but I've kinda passed the point of caring anymore. We dont even have emo...lawl. We have a few gothic-ish people and LOTSA LOTSA preppy fashion and one black guy who is punk. And that is about it. And then there is me, and I wear platform shoes and bright colors and try to look Japanese. LAWL. I really stand out. But I think Im kinda growing on people. I've worn "crazy" hairstlyles, and then see 2 or 3 girls with the same EXACT thing the next day. Omg...we have a lot of "gangster" clothing and people who THINK they are gangster.
Sorry about all the quoting. I was quoting what other people say...cuz 1. I dont think what I wear is crazy or silly and 2. I dont really like labels...and no one really lives up to them in my town anyways...
OK...Im done know razz

The whole thing where I'm at [[and pretty much in American society]] is to just blend in. We have that kind of freedom to be soooo different but we choose not to take advantage of it. But in Japan, people have to wear school uniforms and stuff like that, so when they have the chance to be different, they jump all over it. Also, everyone thinks all asian people are the same, and most Japanese want to prove that wrong. That's why I'm soooo in love with all the fashion stuff down there. Cause it's a form of self-expression, an art form you can say.

I live in a big city where most people wear blacks and grey. Those that wear color use it sparingly. It's depressing. The most color you see are on the younger generation stragglers. That's the most difficult part of living in a city where everyone has an office job. crying

I couldn't be more with you on this! It's ridiculous. And it's depressing, too. When I wear out something that's bright and creative, I get these confused stares like, "...Why are you wearing colors?" >< It's unnatural. People aren't meant to be cookie-cutters.

I think the whole thing with color is that in the states is that the people you see wearing the color have darker skin. Darker skin is just more prized here and in most of our media if you have lighter skin your suppose to wear more pastels or earth tones. Kind of wierd because in the rest of the world paler skin is more prized.
