I don't think he/she is all that insane or mentally challenged... You know that he/she bears the core of the curse in him/her, right? I think the only reason he/she is so messed up is because he/she is afraid. His/her life has been shaved away and he can't do the normal things that everyone else can. Don't you think you'd be a little wonky if that was you?

It was Kureno's fault you know... Not saying any more cause thats a spoiler! That among other things, but the curse core doesn't help him/her any.

I agree with Kisa. If she is insane, it would be for the reason of bearing the bulk of the family curse. I've grown to like Akito as a character, and will back her. The evil part of her is the child of mental anguish and hatred of herself and her parents for birthing her into the world at such a time so she must carry this heavy burden.
Death isn't a light subject, and it grows in weight when you are informed of a rough time of its coming.

I've decided to be undecided, if that makes sense.... sweatdrop
Akito confuses me; I don't like the way the s/he treats the Juunishi, but I don't really understand what is going on with him/her either - I'm not that far into the manga (for obvious reasons sweatdrop ) and I haven't seen the anime yet, so I'm not quite sure of you are talking about when you say that s/he is carrying the "core" of the curse and what not.
So, for now, I'm impartial. >.<

Well she wouldnt be so crazy if the rooster was still cursed and all I mean she wasnt always insane....but I dont understand why she has to be mean to the cutest guys in fruits basket...
