La Veuve Zin Master Kaiser Thing is 99% of the time, stem cells from Feti will not work out, and do not add anything to research, That's why they don't use stem cells from fetuses, but rather from embryos. Fetuses don't have any more stem cells than adults. Then it's a matter of whether or not you see it as murder from conception or not, in which case, I need to reevaluate my position and give this issue more thought before I feel I can form any sort of definitive opinion on this matter.

There are ways to get stem cells without abortions. They're inside of umbilical chords, and you can mix sperm and an egg together in a petri dish, and while that would form an embryo, it would have no chance for survival without a womb to grow in, so it's pretty much doomed anyway.
I'm anti-abortion, but I'm pro-stem cell research. It can help save lives.

The perti dish i dont agree with. In the womb or not, its a human being. And this time around its creatign a human being with the express intention of later destroying it. I cant agree with sacraficing human lives to save human lives.

Yeah, I totally agree with Pyro on this one. I find the idea of "mixing egg and sperm in a petri dish" in order to create a stem cell line to be even more twisted then abortion. At least with abortion, you are killing someone you didn't mean to create. Creating life in order to destroy it for research purposes? That's just wrong.

As much as I'd love my mother to be able to walk again... But anyway, even then, adult stem cell research seems to be more promising, but it gets much less media attention.

It really has a lot to do with where one draws their lines with abortion. However, if other avenues are more fruitful, something like embryonic stem cell research doesn't make much sense. But stem cell research in and of itself is not a bad thing.

And no one here is arguing that Xal. We all agree then stem cell research should be alloud to go on, most of us though agree that one or more of the ways they collect stem cells shoudl not.

Stem cell research gives me a lot of hope, actually. I really do want my mother to be able to walk again. So does she, obviously. But neither of us want it to be at the cost of a human life. The benefit of adult stem cells is they can take them from the actual patient...that way the body has less of a tendancy to reject them. They actually have shown a lot of promise, too. And I hate freaking Norway for taking my links away crying I'll go searching now. Edit: http://stemcells.nih.gov/info/basics/basics4.asphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adult_stem_cellhttp://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn1826 and dealing with that kind of cell, multipotent adult progenitor cells, http://www.mcg.edu/news/2006NewsRel/borlongan-hess20060407.html This is a prolife guy who compiled it, but if you look, his links are from things like medical sites and news sites. It's a pdf, just to warn people. http://www.stemcellresearch.org/alternatives/altsJuneSept06.pdfI'll try to find more later. These aren't the only ones I found, I just need to see about contacting the embassy about Terje's immigration.

Stem-cell research will encourage abortion? WTF? How?

Not abortion, persay, but it will encourage killing fertilized eggs. Which, if you consider fertilized eggs to be people, it's tantamount to abortion.
