"But we have met. We're talking, aren't we?" She stared cluelessly into space until she gave a hoarse laugh. "Oh, you want my name? Noah." She gave a small, quick nod.

Unable to shake an uneasy feeling, Raye sat across from Noah. "I'm Raye. I'm from Arainiel, and you?"

Noah flinched at the question, turning bright red. "Hm, what? I'mnotsure--oh! Waitress!" She snapped a few times calling her over.
"Soup and tea, soup and tea," she said, gaining spead with her sentences. "And you? Huh?" She waved an arm in front of Raye.

"Yeah, what she said." Noah waved off the waitress and positioned herself directly across from Raye.
"You're far too quiet," she said blatantly. "Someone's gonna take advantage of you one day. This town isn't safe all that time, Raye, was it?"

She turned to accept the bowl and cup the waitress gave her and gave a small thanks.

Raye did nothing as the cup was placed in front of her. Her eyes were wide in confusion and shock, as she blamed herself for opening her shy mouth to strangers. O___O"

Noah stared at Raye when she realized what she said. She covered a cough as she continues to stare with an indifferent expression.
I swear, you could cut all the awkwardness in here with a knife, she thought.
"Um, you should drink your tea," Noah mumbled quietly taking a sip from her own cup. She coughed again and scratched the back of her neck.
"Ah well, you can't undo what's done," she said, shrugging nonchlantly.
Noah slowly layed a napkin over her lap and patted her leg. With a stare at Raye and another shrug, armed with a spoon she began to slurp, drink, and chew through the bowl's contents.

From behind them came a low voice, "Hey."
Turning toward the voice, Raye smiled. Cloud stood inside the cafe, completely soaked, his spiky hair matted down, and a smile on his face.
"Come sit," Raye smiled back, patting the area beside her.

Discarding the spoon into the bowl, Noah took a long sigh and patted her stomach. "Oh, that's better," she said.
She looked up, transfixed on the newcomer as a frown grew across her face.
"AVALANCHE, hm?" she asked calmly.

She folded her arms across her chest and turned herself to face the window, still being patted down with rain.
Of everyone in this town, she has to be with him? That guy...
She gave a huff.
I remember him on TV; fighting with the Turks...
She shook her head and shot up.
"Sorry to leave you hanging with the charge, but I remember somewhere I gotta be."
And with a nod towards Raye and a cringe at Cloud, Noah strode out from the cafe.

(( Gah. xD I know nothing on Traverse Town! What goes on here?
If you don't inform me then I'll make up something lame like the Shinra power company and everything else from FF is magically appearing here. xDD ))
Splooshing through the rain, Noah frantically searched for cover from the downpour.
"You think you could've stopped raining by now, huh?" She yelled to the sky. "And now all the shops have to start closing..."
She hung her head and strode over to a bench in a small park. With a heavy sigh she sat down and tied her arms across her rumbling stomach.
"You haven't eaten in around a day and you order the soup," she said to herself. "Didn't even finish your tea."
