I was horse, donkey, and dog sitting once, like when i was 8, and we were getting ready to leave, and i was chilling with the horse. It was one of my first experiences with a large horse, so i didnt really know much. anyway, he bit my little finger, and i didnt notice until i tried walking away, and i couldnt pull my hand away. My finger was indented, and luckily still there. But, he was a good horse, and gave me kisses! smile lol

I was about seven years old, and up north on holiday. We were in Colville, with my mothers birth family. It's a country place(One General Store, a town hall/post office, and a cafe. So as you can imagine, it's small, and covered with farm land), so I was out trekking with my Aunt and mother.

They decided to race down the field, and the horse I was riding at the time(15 year old palomino mare, as I remember) decided she wanted to go too... Being young and inexperienced(Pah, I had to grow up in a populated area in a city close to the capital.. I live a couple of streets away from one of New Zealands best race tracks, yet I don't get any opportunities to ride), I wasn't ready for it.

The horse took off, and I fell. Unfortunately my foot was stuck in the stirrup, so I was being dragged along behind the horse on my back xD

Other than the grass burn, and a small bruise or two, I came out fine. No injuries xD Lol

Got right back on afterwards. I'm a bit wary now when I'm on a horses back, but it's all good.

Wow that was a long post xD Most of it was just mindless drivel.

Wow thats young and far too, LOL Really? dang!! I'm so glad that you're alive since most people die from not getting safety when stuck on a horn, I'm glad you're ok and I hope you didn't get badly hurt. Wow, I would get on too but not right away when I just fell. thas good and always get back on that saddle no matter what, awwww it's ok, I read the whole thing in a jiffy, anyway do you own horses?

Last June I was working with this GORGEOUS dark bay gelding, who had been abused by one of my trainers' ex riders when my trainer wasn't around (she got banned from the barn since my trainer was managing it at the time), and because of that he was extremely spooky and headshy, and I was the only one who ever WANTED to ride him. We had some serious bonding. <3 Because of him I can sit any spooks, bucks, or frog-hops (but no rears, haven't really ridden a horse while it reared. xD). But anyways. This girl would sneak into the barn (before she got banned and my trainer put LOCKS on the doors of her horses stalls) when she knew my trainer wasn't going to be there, so my trainer never really figured out what was happening until she got told by some ladies there.
So last june, I was riding him, and all of a sudden he broke into a canter, and since I'd never cantered on him, all I could do was sit there and hold a loose contact (I only ever worked on stretching him because he was so sensitive and other reasons I don't remember) and hope for the best...
Well, he cut into a relatively small circle around ANOTHER horse that was cantering all of a sudden, and bucked, then reared, and off I went. Landed flat on my back, and for the first fifteen minutes after that I couldn't feel or move anything below my waist. And I was crying so hard that I could hardly breathe. So I ended up going to the ER in an ambulance, strapped to a back board (those are really uncomfortable. Honest to god they are. @_@ ), and literally 20 x-rays later it turned out that I'd sprained my neck, right hip and right shoulder, as well as serious bruisage. I had to wear a neck brace for a week (during exam week, too! gonk ), and literally, the day I was allowed to take it off I went and rode again. XD
Never was allowed to ride Daniel after that...I'm still not, even though he's not a bad boy. :< I love him so much, he's so pretty. xD But I don't love him nearly as much as my ShayDaddy. <3

Pretty Gelding and serious? thats not good and that girl sounds like a rebel, awwww that sucks! poor you! I'm so sorry to here that and he must of been really spooked if he reared, bucked and cantered like that, and oh no!! the ER?! I'm so glad you made it in the Hospital alive and 20 X-Rays?! thats a lot in a day and I hope you're allright and get well soon, hope you recovered all the way from that bad injury and so if you're not allowed to ride Daniel then who is allowed to ride him?

Has n-e-1 ever gotten seriously hurt in a horse related accedent??

I have had my horse slip and fall and she rolled over me and crushed some bones in my ankel and broke all but one of my ribs. I was in the hospital for almost 2weeks.
wow i had something like that happen to me;
i was at an event last winter warming up and my horse slipped in the mud and fell on top of me, on the way to the hospital i had an epileptic fit [im not an epeleptic though] and my brain was bleeding so they had to opperate to stop the bleeding, after the opperation i went into a coma and was in it for 4 days.
i was extremely lucky to not have incured brain damage. and supprisingly i did not brake any bones
