I seriously wonder what gymkhana is and why it's dangerous. confused

It puts a lot of strain on the horse. It should be okay as long as you start training for it after the horse finishes developing its legs.
I see
I just said that copycat, lol.

Well, in a way it kinda is, but mostly isn't.
It makes horses feel good to compete.
But the ones who get injured..
Yeah, the horses love racing but the ones who get hurt often get shot or they can't live their lives fully anymore. The reason they get hurt isn't generally because of the jockeys. Usually they:
spook
slip when running
land funny after a jump (sometimes they have jumps)
the jockey falls off and they trip on their; reins etc.
I see and you mean trip on their butts?
Y'know when the reins are trailing on the ground and they step on them. It can injure their necks I think or their legs can get tangled in them.

Same here and you mean cruel? I agree and snobby owners hurt their horses if they lose a race.

its no crueler than any other horse sport. in a way, its more enjoyabe for them than what we do to them. you see, horses are made for short, quick sprinting, not long, slow, workouts like we make them do. In the wild, horses would sprint their hardest away from predators, and then slow down and rest. We, however, make our horses go slowly around an arena for at least half an hour, aand we don't ride them every day, only occasionally.

At most times it can be and true but most people in Racing are greedy and care about money instead of their horse's life and condition on the race.

Anyway thanks fror for coming to this Guild, enjoy. biggrin

I dont think it is cruel if the owner/jockey cares about the horse. Like with Barbaro his jockey stoped him right when he felt somthing was wrong. They didnt put him down though because they thought they could, and so far so good. Horse racing can be very dangerous. Racing is also what most throughbreds are bred to do.

I agree and thats right, thats thet did when Barbaro stopped racing and true but most Thoroughbreds can be Jumpers or show horses along with being riding horses.
