Death Metal (none of that Kataklysm crap... i'm really into the epic, empowering, terrifying death metal bands, like Behemoth and Nile)
Hardcore (everything from Norma Jean and As I Lay Dying and Between the Buried and Me, to Job For A Cowboy and Winds of Plague and All Shall Perish)
Ambient/Experimental (Godspeed You! Black Emporer, A Silver Mt. Zion, etc.)

Is this about Metal subgenres or Musical genres in general, because I see some people posting Punk Rock Subgenres as well. confused
As far as Metal goes, my favorite 3 subgenres are:
Power Metal: The beautiful melodies, the amazing guitar solos and the beautiful(yes) vocals and the epic and strong feeling to it are what attract me the most. Favorite bands are Hammerfall, Gamma Ray, Rata Blanca and Edguy.
Heavy Metal: The catchyness, the fun and the more down-to-earth message in it are what I truly like of it(Though I like Iron Maiden for being epic and strong). My favorite bands here are Iron Maiden, Manowar and Dio.
Neo-Classical Influenced Metal: The almost symphonic sound in it is really great. I don't know much of it, but the 2 artists I have really dig up I like, those are Cacophony and Yngwie Malmsteen.
If it reffers to music in general then it would be:
Metal: For being beautiful, strong and epic. Favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Rata Blanca, Edguy and Gamma Ray.
Rock: For being fun, fun and fun. Favorite artists are Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Queen and Aerosmith. By the way, Freddie Mercury owns your souls.
Classical music and Music with classical instrumentation: It's really calming, even the more intense melodies can help me relax like nothing else. Favorite artists are Richard Clayderman, David Lanz and Bethoven.
