Beth stood at the top of the steps for a minuet and after realising that Felix must have gone in she descended the steps, waved a small greeting to her brother, who was nearly unrecognizable without the eyeliner and the grey eyeshadow, plus his fringe was out the way.

Well he was certainly either brave or foolish being seen out like that.

She smiled as she spotted Felix trying to hide in a corner.

"Sorry I'm late, my hair tried to refuse to curl," she exlained, pointing at the strand of now curled hair that fell down the side of her face.

Kathrynn gazed around with a scowl matching Harry's. She spotted a group of people that she'd seen in class before. She also noticed that pretty much everyone in sight was paired up with someone. "It's like Noah's Ark." Kathrynn mumbled aloud to herself. She looked very beautiful, dressed as a peacock, but that was just her clothes and hair. While her feather and sequin mask covered the upper half of it, her face was twisted up into a creasing frown that blew it all out of the water. Couples were passing her, giggling and holding hands and looking down right extatic about the ball, the girls floating about in dainty costumes, the boys strutting about with looks of pride as they accomanied their dates into the hall. Kathrynn began to thump the side of her head against the stone banister lightly.

“Don’t call me that” Felix whined, clapping his hands over his head. “Me and Beth were going to be bitchy in the corner and you can only come over if you are nice!”
Felix pulled a face as what he had just said sunk it; he looked like an idiot there was no need for him to act like one as well. What he really needed was for someone to prod with sharp things every time him opened his mouth with out thinking.

Manis was walking away from the drink table, a glass of punch (spiked! yippee!) in his hand, when he spotted Dorain and Wynter in the Entrance Hall. He blushed, and was tempted to walk over to them, but decided against it, and sat down at one of the tables dispersed around the edge of the Hall, choosing the one closest to where Wynter was.

“Did anyone ever slap you?” Felix asked Dorian, shooting daggers at him.
“Sorry” Felix added with a smile “I forgot you where incapable of being non wankerish!”
That was it, right there that was how you treated Dorian, you were cold and not hurt, and witty and clever. Maybe that wasn’t the perfect example but it was better than pouting. Anything was better than pouting!
Felix sighed, it was better this way. Right?

Dorian is bad, very, very bad. Felix reminded himself he will never be good, even if he is very sexy!
“I hate you” he exclaimed sullenly, looking to his feet.
Felix and his shoes had a very strong bond; he made more eye contact with them then anyone else in the world. His shoes where nice, always there when they needed him, empathetic and understanding, there was really no good reason not to run away and become a solitary hermit with just his shoes.

Felix chipped away at the dry skin on his lip with his teeth “Yeah, I’m sure” he murmured doubtfully still not lifting his eyes from his shoes. Carefully, he considered his doubts about coming along with Dorian’s statement.

If he could get his fears under enough control to stop him from visibly shacking, he could make tonight worthwhile.
With a sharp intake of breath Felix fixed his eyes on Dorian’s, testing the water certainly couldn’t hurt.
