B-ball and Isis kinda drifted apart...but I won't/can't do anything so I'm staying out of it and I'm NOT talking to her!

ahh... I'm terribly sorry... I hope there's a way you can overcome your differences and be friends again... losing any one of my friends is my biggest fear in life... and I hate to see others lose their friends too...

Drifted apart? That doesn't exactly sum this up... We were close as ever last week, I'm gone for 3 days and the weekend, and she has new friends. Now I didn't mind that, I'm not trying to keep her to myself and I was glad she had met some new people. But then all of a sudden she's hanging out with them most of the time. I barely saw anything of her, and when I did I would say something that for some reason now upset her and she wouldn't talk to me, or she didn't talk to me at all for no reason. Then the other day, she was at my house and OUT WITH ME, and she's on the cell phone, talking or texting them most of the ride there.
This afternoon, she standing by me, waiting for the bus, and one of her friends comes up to her and starts talking to her. So she's not even two feet away from me, ignoring me, not saying a word to me for at least 30 minutes until we're on the bus and she asks me, "Are we still best friends?" That kinda set me off... So I said, 'How can you be my best friend when I'm clearly not yours'. She said something about how we always talk about the same things, and how they have more in common with her and s**t. I said, well, I'm guessing we can't be best friends when I don't entertain you with topics enough or we don't have much in common all of a sudden. She said something about not hanging out with us or something, so I said, "Ya know what? Don't hang around with us! If you don't like it, don't come near me again." More yelling insued....
Then I handed her my rough copy of the above poem. After she read it she asks me if that means if she loses her other friends if we'll be best friends again, and I said I don't know, it's not up to me, She's the one who ******** it all up. Then I stayed silently steaming till I got home.
Is that a good explanation of why we're not friends anymore? I hope so, cause now I'm angry again thinking about it.

Dante Deus ahh... I'm terribly sorry... I hope there's a way you can overcome your differences and be friends again... losing any one of my friends is my biggest fear in life... and I hate to see others lose their friends too... Trust me, I didn't want to lose her. In fact, I almost cried Wednesday because of all of this... Ask Ami and Chaos..... I NEVER cry. As I tried to imply in the poem, I'm much more sad than angry. I just have a horrible way of dealing with it by being mad.

Thanks...It probably will. But with my anger overwhelming my sympathy, it most likely won't end until she suffers the same way I did by not saying a word to her...Sometimes I wish I weren't the way I am. That reminds me of a poem I wrote...

Okay! Off of this sad subject... Here's a poem I wrote a few months back.
On the Inside
Isn't it funny how I can be hiding Most of my feelings Without even trying
Cause no one can see what goes on in my heart or how so many times I've nearly fallen apart
I think I like it that way.
I can glue on a smile and laugh all day long Then no one can tell That something's very wrong
It's really quite amusing how easy this charade can be With all the friends I have and no one knows the real me
Maybe I like it that way.
Then there came you and I just couldn't hide The love I have for you Though, at first, I tried
You warmed my heart and let me feel So many great things I never knew were real
Yes, I like it that way.
But that won't make me change my disappearing act Now it's a part of me Just a simple fact
I may be very stubborn But I'm also very strong I'll never let out the pain I've held in for so long
It's staying that way.
Maybe one day I'll share with someone who will care
Instead of trying to hide The way I feel inside
Till then, I am this way.

Isis... I really like this one... I really do. It really reminds me of myself... it's awesome... and yet I have to hate it because it does remind me of myself... I don't think you could understand... and I don't talk about it to anybody but two people... and neither of them are here... so yeah... professionally, I love it... but personally I can't stand to read it... nothing against you or your writing... it's so hard to explain... just forget it... it's a truly wonderful poem... I love the way you played the rhyme in this one... the one line stanza repitition... it's rather good.

Okies. This one is inspired by the same person who inspired most of my poetry. It is a love poem, and almost all of my poems are either love poems or heartbreak poems. I'm a sad lovesick person. Anyways...
Foolish
It is foolish to feel the way I do I'm not supposed to fall in love with you I don't know, can't figure out what I'd say And I doubt you'd even feel the same way If you did, or I were older, even then It wouldn't matter, you are taken You have read your vows, said the words I do You are married with a wife that loves you So I'm stuck wishing, hoping, and dreaming Of something that cannot, will never be You can never know the way I feel, then And I will be nothing more than your friend
Not that it really matters, but...Although this one foreshadows the opposite, the person and I were actually in love, even though he was, in all ways possible, unavailable... As I said, a lot of my poems are also heartbroken, so can you guess that we didn't live happily ever after?

Thanks! In the way of constructive criticism, is there a certain thing you don't like about Foolish?
Okay, here's another one, once again about said person. I don't like this one too much, by the way it was thrown together, but I couldn't find much of a way to describe my feelings well. It's from around the area that my poetry goes downhill. FYI, I'm not posting these in order of when they were written, so I'm sorry if it gets confusing at all.
Wanting, Waiting
I'm left here, waiting My head and heart, straining How soon till it will end?
It's a very painful thing I mean, all this waiting But I'm stuck like this till then
But will it even happen? This dream that I'm trapped in A nightmare in reality
This deep desire inside has taken from my pride As lovesick as one could be
False hopes or wishful thinking? Is this love truly meant to be? Relying on fate to show me the way
Longing and yearning is driving me crazy Stuck in this hope, reality now hazy Don't know if I'll ever be okay

I like this one... I really like the way you play with rhyme schemes... but I still feel like your poetry would take a skip, hop, and a bound if you tried to vary from that. You have serious talent Isis... you just rely on the same things too much. Try and mix it up a little. mrgreen I really like your personal style though.

I realize that. I just need something, practice or a little knowledge maybe, on works outside of rhyme. I haven't had that much exposure to much else in school, so that's usually how mine works out. I'm in the works of writing something now, so maybe I can try a different writing style on it. Try something new. But thanks so much for your opinion! I really appreciate it so much.
Actually, the poem I wrote today is the first thing I've written in about five months, and it was freeverse. Maybe I can expand my writing a little more if I get a start like that...

Oh and I don't think I explained my first poem at all. It's pretty self explanitory, but I'll add something anyways.
I wrote it last November, reflecting on a past memory. It's about my godfather who shot himself December 8th, 2000. He was pronounced brain dead the next day. When I wrote it, it was almost the five year anniversary, so the original version's end was actually 'it's been five years..' but shortly before I posted it here, I changed it to six since it's coming up again. I'd say more, but it's irrelevant I guess.

Yes, the freeverse you wrote today was very good for a first free verse. You have a lot of potential... just practice... you'll get it... I promise.
