Have you guys ever tried online dictionaries?
For example, www.dictionary.com and www.thesaurus.com are particularly helpful when you're stuck with a meaning or need the right word, and you don't have the real thing lying around.
They're better than the real thing, to tell you the truth.
Dictionary.com offers a "Word of the Day" email that can seriously increase one's vocabulary. It's really helpful for serious writers who don't already have ten-billion net marketers stuffing their inboxes with junkmail by the hour.

The first time I ever wrote something, as in really wrote something, it was because poeple - teachers, parents, relatives - thought I should. "You've got good english. Use it." So I wrote a few nature articles for newspapers and poems (not teen angsty ones - regular poems).
Then my reasons changed. Writing became something that I could use to get all those ideas in my head on paper, to be creative, to think, to improve my language, to have fun.
I don't write really write all that often now. Most of the time, I delete what I do end up writing. I can't maintain deadlines. I can only ever write when I just... need to. It's this nagging thought in the back of my mind that won't go away unless I start typing. It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, it's just fun. That's all. xd
And you know how people say writing let's them loose themselves? Takes them away to a different world? It might sound cliche, but I can assosciate.

for me writing was somthing else that i could do that hinata did, and it makes her mad when u steal idea/catch phrase from her. so i originally did it to make her mad, but then i fell out of writing and began to read, then i read a story about a personal experiance with being raped, and from then on it was about being the best writer that i could be, and pushing to make a diffrence. My profile, is at the bottom. theres a story called a murderous joke if anyone wants to check it out. but it think that most writers need a place to just vent. and i've started relying on it more and more, but i still don't want to make it about me, and relesing my emotions to keep my self happy, i'd rather it be about helping those who need it, as can be seen in the AN. it hnk we all hit a reality block somwhere i just had mine with attempted suidide. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/978581/

No no no, Hinata’s named after a cartoon character, a character in Naruto. Naruto is the manga/anime I write off of. I didn't kill my friend I killed my friends favorite character, because, she was the only one that fit the profile. It’s a long chain, but here’s a picture of the character, read the story and you’ll see all of the characters, are actual cartoon characters. ‘Hinata’ is a character of Naruto copywrited by Masashi Kishimoto.

narutolvr101 i dunno.. cuz it's fun it's fun to write stories that just come out of your imagination Yea, it is fun. But...just coming from the imagination, doesn't that mean that it would be broken? Meaning that it is only a piece of the masterpiece. Usually a story emerges from a single idea, and is then expanded through a lot of thought. Do you think through everything that makes a story before putting pencil to paper? (Or...in other people's case, fingers to keyboard)

I see both of your points, some one shots, are nothing more then dreams, like a couple of my pure humor ones, but then there is also some stories where you need to sit down and think, like above where we were talking about a murderous joke, I typed up like four reps of that before I sent it to my beta, let alone come back to me for further editing or go to my test reader. There is some stories where one type, and you know that it won’t get better, like allot of humor for me is that way, and one angst, my best angst sad to say. But then you have some stories that you need to type a million times over, and be scrutinous about. There are some things that you know you have to do board lists for first because it's just better that way. Different people work differently, and if you read grandma (my first story) versus, turmoil (my most recent update) you can see a definite difference. You cans see the beta, change to one who reads Naruto, and knows the names; you can see where I added in a test reader, you could see where I’ve become more comfortable. I try to every once in a wile go back and read one of my first rough drafts on one of my first stories, just to remind myself, not to go back there. I used to write on a pin needle, and scratch for fun. Now I write to be serious. As you evolve in you series(s), in your titles, and in your name, you get a sense of your writing skills. Pamcake is still new to writing, so she’s still all hyper and types to type (now that I read that it sounds rude, everyone does that it's not rude...I think) as you develop a style you develop, not a drag in your stories, but a routine, and it's less exiting, a nd more, lets type to figure out WTHeck we're going to, because I’m lost in my own words. People say that I have a gift for putting things into words, I think I have a better gift of getting lost in my own words, and so I’ve used that in creating a style. What she says is still used my myself in some cases, but it's still noob giddiness I think. It’s just a matter of style, you seem to be more structured, wile she’s more loosely regulated.

thank you, and i have no idea, i just felt like it that day. I'm glad you see my point, like i said i'm a vrey confusing person to talk to, it takes a bit for people to understand where i'm coming from. i try to keep it normal, howeer my family's not normal, and i'm not just saying that. i talk way above my should-be level, and i talk way more in depth then people like to read. So i try to do more, on the ball fic's but that's hard for me, i like going over it multiple times. any ideas?

i guess that makes sence, but what i somtimes worry about is over improving. i thnk most people have read the stories, where the spoon feed you everything, and two words takes up like nine paragraphs. so i guess i understand what your saying, but yet i also question, why somtimes in little drabble one-shot, meant to be short and sweet stories why just a basic idea, typed up, and sent off wouldn't suffice, in somcases it's even better. if you don't get that i have examples, of stuff i8'll post later.
