Kira eyes opened wider at his sister's reply. "You have to Cagalli...you almost died because there was no security about! Do you think that it is something to be taken lightly? Now that the media have gotten that out, others might try it too. Ever since the last war, ORB's popularity has gone down amongst its people you know."
He sighed and sat at the edge of the bed. "I can't go with you back to ORB Cagalli." he told her. "Not yet...I'm going to stay with Lacus at the Clyne Mansion, but I'll continue being messenger between ORB and the PLANTs." Looking at her with a frown, he added "Please be more careful."

Lacus smiled at Kira's concern. Despite being overprotective, he had good reason to after two wars, he had very caring thoughts, and his intentions were well thought out.
"I think I can schedule it so that you can return to ORB tomorrow morning." she said to Cagalli warmly. "While we were waiting, the doctor explained to us that as long as you are emotionally fine with returning to the public eye, you could leave any time you want. The small bruises shouldn't render you any disability."
She reached forward to press the television remote. "I hope the media hasn't received too much information to be displayed." she added worriedly.

By now the nurse had entered the room as the television was turned on. She would have brought with her extra chairs, though by now she realized the others probably weren't going to have much to say to Cagalli...merely comfort her through the ordeal. Because of this, they wouldn't be coming in to talk with her. As a commercial about new computerized workstations displayed itself on the screen, she walked up to Cagalli's bedside, where Lacus and Kira were sitting.
"Well, as Miss Lacus just mentioned, you are perfectly healthy Representative Athha." she said calmly. "Except for the minor bruises to your side and your legs which we have treated you for, you are physically ready to leave anytime you like. And if you are willing to, you are well enough to present yourself to the public." Looking down at the report, she walked over to the table and placed a small container near its edge. "Here is an oinment to help with the bruises. They should be fully healed within the week. And if y-"
Another news report had come across the television screen. She fell silent, wondering what it was going to display this time...

Lacus nodded her thanks to the nurse before turning to see another report had come on the television. She too went silent and held both Kira and Cagalli's hands gently as the news reporter began speaking.

Cagalli noticed how Kira's eyes widened when she replied. She was aware of her brother's concern, and she appreciated his concern. But she knew what was neccesary. "Kira... I know how serious this situation is. There will surely be security when I return to ORB, but I don't see much of a need to increase it any further." She appreciated her brother's concern. She sighed and closed her eyes. "I will be more careful." Opening her eyes, she added "Thanks."
Looking towards Lacus, she nodded. "Tomorrow morning sounds fine. Oh, and don't worry too much. Emotionally, I feel much better to be honest. It will come to pass." She murmured.
As Lacus reached for the remote, shetook a glance at the nurse. "Thank you." Her gaze was brought towards the television screen where the reporter cotinued talking. A sudden silence was brought into the room.

"...This just in, further investigations report what investigators hope to be clues as to who may be responsible for the attempted assasination of Orb's Princess. Unknown sources confirmed that the assasin is male, around 5'9" in height, about 165lbs in weight, calculated from the spread and pressure exerted in a foot print that was discovered not too far from the site. Furthermore, it is confirmed that a piece of torn cloth was located on the premise in the branches of bushes that perhaps were used to conceal the assasin from being discovered. Investigators won't give any further detail on the piece of cloth except that it may be from a military uniform. They hope to use this piece of evidence to run some DNA testing. Investigators are also asking that if anyone has anything further to add in order to help the investigation then please contact them.
Any further news of Representative Attha's condition has not been released as of yet. This has been a news update from Orb's Kingdom6 News."

Kira still had a frown on his face as he listened to the news. "At least there isn't a swarm of media outside waiting for you, Cagalli." he noted, looking out the doorway, and then glancing at the window. "We're pretty lucky none of the wedding was caught on their film too..." he paused, noticing that the report was very sensored. "They haven't shown any video of the assasination attempt, and Mir had told me that she later noticed there were cameras that caught the whole thing...I wonder what the media is up to."
Getting up, he paced once, then leaned on Lacus' chair, knowing that more reports would be coming up on the assination often throughout the next few days. "You are sure you'll be able to handle everything?" He asked his sister one last time, trying to reassure himself more than her.

Lacus listened to Kira's comments fretfully. He was right; the media was hiding certain aspects. Perhaps they didn't want to worry the public? Then why tell them of the assasination attempt in the first place? She looked at Kira, wondering what he was thinking...
Turning to Cagalli, she added her response. "If you wish, I can ask Kairynn to come with you on the way back to Earth. I'm sending her there tomorrow...And we can always have her go to ORB before heading to the Oceanic Republic..." Lacus felt her tongue still trying to wrap around the words 'Oceanic Republic'. Everyone was suspicious of this new place, and that was why she was sending Kairynn down to the republic as an associate to communicate with the leader of the republic, representative of the PLANTs and messenger to convey any information needed.
Sighing, she clicked the mute on the television channel, then smiled. "at the very least, Kira and I will see you off at departure tomorrow." She patted her friend's hand.

Cagalli's nurse, by the name of Keiko, sighed with some relief. It hadn't been a terribly exposing report, though it did seem to mention only certain aspects of the situation. She left silently as the conversation continued on in the room. Going back into the waiting room, she noticed most people were not in the mood for talking. They all had a worried look on their face...but it didn't appear to concern Cagalli's wellbeing as much as the motive to the assasination attempt. Walking up, she smiled at them, trying to show no negative emotions on her face.
"Anyone who wishes to visit Cagalli can do so now if they want to. Otherwise though, she is fine and you do not have to worry about anything. I know you are all tired, and you may go home if you wish. I can send for taxis to return everyone without a car to their house."

Waltfeld thanked the nurse with a simple nod. "Perhaps I'd better go," he told the others. "I gotta get back to finish some work I started last night. Give Cagalli my condolences." Holding his arm out to Mrs. Yamato, he asked her "Coming?"
Mrs. Yamato smiled. "Yes, I'll come along too. Besides, Cagalli will be more comfortable with less people around her." she said this knowing that her son would give Cagalli her advice anyways. Accepting Andrew's friendly gesture, she walked out with him, leaving the hospital.

Miriallia also got up. "I guess there isn't a point in me staying. I'll probably see Cagalli when I head back with her to Earth..." She looked around; the only people left in the sitting area were Shinn, Luna, Mwu and Murrue. Meyrin had had a training session to go to, and Dearka and his friend (...Yzak was it?) had gone to a military conference. Reverend Malchio returned home to make sure the wedding details were not revealed, and Andrew Waltfeld and Mrs. Yamato just left of course. "I'll see you all later." she said with a smile, and also walked out the hospital's sliding doors.
Getting onto Sai's motorbike, she clipped on the helmet and started it. Now driving out of the parking lot, she sighed as the wind whipped by her. Even with both wars over, and plenty of lessons learned, mankind hadn't changed one bit in their needs to kill one another...
Luna waved goodbye to Waltfeld, Mrs. Yamato and Miriallia as they left. She didn't know Kira's mother, or Miriallia, very well, but by aquaintances with Kira she had met them and knew them all as nice people. And of course, Waltfeld was a superior to her.
Looking over at Shinn, she wondered how he was feeling about sitting in the hospital, doing nothing but waiting. "If you want, we can go..." she told him quietly. "But visiting Cagalli would be nice before we head off."

Shinn shrugged. He wasn't going to be saying much anyways, if he could help it. He was here now, so he might as well get it over with. When Lunamaria talked like she felt indifferent, she really wanted you to do whatever it was. She was like that.

Luna smiled. "Thanks Shinn." she said, and took his hand to pull him off his chair.
Leading him down the hallway, she came to Cagalli's room to see Kira, Lacus and Cagalli talking quietly. Knocking softly on the doorframe, she blushed slightly with embarassment. It was still awkward to talk with Cagalli since she didn't know her very well, and she knew it would be even more awkward with Shinn.
"Hello," she said, directing the conversation to Cagalli. "Remember me? I'm Luna..." She paused awkwardly. "Err...how are you doing?"

Cagalli was silent during the whole news report. The news of the accident spread quickly. But what Kira had said was right. It was a good thing that the media were not waiting for her outside. "Kira, I'll be fine. Oh, and thank you Lacus." A firmer tone was hinted in her voice. She tried to show that she was sure of herself.
Hello She heard a different voice coming from the doorway. It was Luna. Cagalli seemed to know her by face, but other than that, she didn't know a whole lot about the girl as of yet. "Well, I seem to be doing better."
