I'm sorry you feel Catholics worship Mary. I'm also sorry you feel that Catholicism, the original church started by Jesus, is the same as a religion that was started by someone who is not the son of God. I"m sorry you feel we're nuts and I'm very sorry to hear that I'm going to hell because I"m trying to buy my way out of purgatory. I'm also sorry to learn that though most of my life has been dedicated to following Jesus, I'm actually not going through Him, and that in fact I'm going to hell for idolotry. I most deeply regret that as a Catholic, I can't possibly understand that Jesus already paid the full sacrifice to us. Here I was thinking every Sunday I go to church and relive the last supper and repeat the Gospel, pray for the salvation of the souls of those around me, pray that people accept Jesus because I believe He died for our souls, and in actuallity, I'm nuts and so is my family. So are my friends, I guess. Thankyou very kindly for the update. If you ever want to know what I actually believe and whether or not I actually treat Mary as a god, worship crackers, and try and pay for my redemption with earthly money, feel free to pm me. Until then, I know your opinion of me is that I'm crazy and I will surely take this into account.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO But I will thwart you with my ancient relic that was touched to the bones of St. Jude....okay, so they were chicken bones, but close enough. (Actually...they did have tons of fake relics made in the middle ages and I wouldn't be surprised if some people still did that today....)

Well....what if I like being a toad? eek Besides, wouldn't I turn into a chicken by accident, since I thwarted you with chicken bone relics? Or would you accidentally turn yourself into a chicken?
Actually...a lot of non-Catholics think of it like that, I just get annoyed when I hear it. I had someone tell me electing this guy as pope is bad politics on the part of the cardinals, mostly for his views on abortion and women in the clergy. Which are exactly the same as Pope John Paul II's, but um, guess they figure he's dead and can't do any harm anymore. Besides, he was a pope who did a lot for the world, I'm sure little flaws like prolife tendancies can be overlooked. But um....I had no idea that the guy trying to look out for my immortal soul is also trying to take over the world as political leader. The statement started with, "I'm not Catholic, but..." So...eh. Catholic Church has a long history of evil to overcome, it was pretty darn corrupt for a long time, and I admit that. I support what Martin Luther did, stubbornly, to my father, who's converting from a Lutheran to a Catholic soon. The Church needed reform because the people in charge used it politically. So I'm pretty sure that history sorta sticks with people.
I still react though, I need to stop doing that. I've heard enough times that I worship Mary that I treat it like a joke. I've never heard the cracker remark though, threw me off. I shouldn't have reacted meanly, we're all on the same side, regardless of religion, politics, w/e. I just hope he keeps his mind a bit open to my opinions on prolife and not shut off because I'm Catholic. He seems very capable of that.
I still want to see you get turned into a chicken. Or a toad. Can I hold up my miraculous medal and ward off the toad spell so that the worst that happens is warts?

xd I think I'd rather be a toad than a human covered in warts.
I find it amusing because I probably got more offended by his remark than you did. Although I backed down and didn't post anything. There's really no need for religious bashing of any type in here. This should be a safe and secure place for people who feel the same way on the issue of abortion, to pick each others brains or just to hang out.
Especially by another Christian o_O I mean I can deal with people bashing me for being Pagan, where it does say stuff against it in the bible. It's kinda to be expected, but for one Christian to bash another Christian for their beliefs. Mind boggling really.

However, it's bad for the Church to be left without a leader for very long, so they are probably just trying to buy more time because they aren't sure about who God wants to be the next Pope. right now the cardinals' views, I think. Probably much prayer, asking for guidance. They pick the person who they feel is most likely to lead the Church in the way that follows Jesus. Follows Jesus by worshipping Mary and worshipping the communion crackers. Yup. Catholicism is the Scientology of Christianity in my oppinion. They're nuts. Better then Kabalah I guess, but will praying to Mary get you into heaven? Jesus never said "pay money and I'll let you out of purgatory", he said that the only way to heaven and to God was by Him (Jesus) not by money or sacrifice. Jesus already paid that full sacrifice for us. we pray to Mary and all the saints in heaven to interceede to God for us, we do not worship Mary we just honor her.
