i saw meetyourmeat.com's vid now i don't eat meat, drink milk, eat cheese, yogurt, and if i can help it anything with dairy and if i eat eggs, they are free-range. It might sound wrong that I eat eggs at all but the eggs they sell aren't fertalized and by the time a chicken has "popped" one out it's too late to fertalize it.

I broke into a slaughter house after reading the quote "If slaughter houses were made of glass, everyone would be vegetarian." It is AMAZINGLY true.... I will never go back to eating meat, or animal bi-products.

I became a vegetarian through influence of my older sister and because I read pamphelts from Peta about the horrors of animal cruelty and that influenced me too.

I was trying to lose weight.... and after much research, found most animal products were totally high in fat and such, so I cut them out...
then a close friend of mine became vegan (for the same reason - to lose weight), and proposed it to me (I was pescatrian at the time) and I was cool - all I had to do was stop eating bonito broth in my soups and switch to soymilk. I hate cheese! blek bleck! BUt, I lost alot of weight when I became vegan.. so yay!
I apologize... I did not have my roots in animal ethics... those came later for me. ^____^;;

I feel kinda out of place. I didn't go veggie to help animals, or after watching an animal die. It wasn't the concept of the cow becoming a hamburger; it was the concept of the hamburger itself.
see, I came from a very "meat-n-potatos" family. I always thought the way meat was perpared in my house was sick. Boiled hotdog, soppy burgers, boiled chiken (that was the worst), overly rare steak (i hated steak anyways). Plus, there was rarely ever any fruits or veggies in the house. A meat and starch diet is not a good thing, for your body or pallat. During a trip downstate, we had an amazing saladbar. It was delicious. I decided there that I'd try to go veggie, and Ive kept to it. It has been a couple months now (I'm still really new to it) and I feel better (and healthier) than ever. I even got a couple of friends to go veggie too.

i've always been a vegetarian... my whole family are vegetarian except sometimes they eat turkey... however I don't... In the begining when i was a kid i was embrass that I would have to bring home lunch to school... since the don't serve Vegatarian food in that Cafe...I would wish i could be like everyone else...but as I got old I didn't have a problem we with it... I like being a vegetarian... I'm not a vegan but I will be once I go to college and get out of my house... My mom wouldn't really buy me vegan food...I have to drink milk because my mom wouldn't buy soy milk... It costs more and we're not rich, we don't have much money to be truthful... But the though of chesse and eggs creep me out... are eggs the result of chicken menstrual cycle...eww... anyway that how i became a vegetarian...

At summer camp my awesome Art/Writing teacher was (and still is) Vegan. For a while I had decided I would just eat chicken and now I extremely regret that. The teacher influenced me to stop. And it was very easy since my mom has been a vegetarian for 6 years. She was fully supportive of my choice. Now I have a very vegetarian house. No meat for dinner for anyone. Unless we eat out or my brother makes his own, which he rarely does put meat in it. But now I think my dad's going veggie. He said "I haven't eaten any meat since Sunday." (I did a walk for farm animals that day.) And that means that I might have influenced him.
So then my dad, my mom, and me would be vegetarian. mrgreen

i loved animals, so i felt bad eating meat. i told myself i wasnt gonna be a vegetarian. but then i found out some of my friends were... it was all over TV... we talked about it in SS when we were discussing India... and it finally got to my head. i randomly decided to become a vegetarian, and havent eaten meat since. books say to 'gradually lessen how much meat you eat' but i found it fairly easy to switch. but since i had 13 meat filled years behind me, i occasionly got those cravings, but you forget about them and after a month or two you dont get them and meat discusts you. its a great feeling to know your doing your part to save the world.
