Outside the war, people didn't know who Kira was. So, I guess everyone would just keep living.

Angel's got a point; if everyone knows Lacus, they'll know Kira. I'd say though Kira would die either protecting someone or of old age. So it wouldn't matter if everyone knew him or not, right?

If he was well known when he died, he would defiently be remembered in everyone's hearts. But if he was just known with the SEED crew, then he would be remembered only in the hearts of some.

Well, Kira wasn't too much of a nobody. In fact, most of the Orb military members knew who he was....somehow. I have no idea how. In fact, they should know who he was even after the second Bloody Valentine war because he had a pretty high rank.
Okay, next topic:
We all know Cagalli and Athrun have their own problems to deal with. Dearka and Miriallia seemed to have failed at their blooming relationship in SEED. Even Shinn had some tragedies to get through. In spite of all these bad relationships, one couple shines through: Kira and Lacus. Not that we really wish it to happen, but in your mind what will be the cause of their breakup? How will it happen and what will it cost to work it all out? On what level would you compare it to compared to all the other couples?

Actually, nothing came to mind at first. Lacus says everything happens, Kira, as the drone, complies with everything. On the level of relationship, I'd say that Kira drags it down, except for the episode 13 mush, I suppose.
If anything had to break them up, I think it would be because of Lacus's duties she probably has to tend to, cleaning up the PLANTs and redeveloping relationships with the EA. Long-distance relationships are hard to maintain... Kira probably wouldn't be able to keep up with her. I don't know... and maybe while on her business/diplomatic meetings, she finds someone else... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Lacus being the evil one would be so amusing.

If Kira and Lacus breakup, I'll be crying for weeks; they are a perfect couple!
Hmm...I don't imagine the two of them ever getting into an fight, so here's my lame situation:
Both Lacus and Kira have really busy schedules and eventually, because of the different things they must do, they must break off the relationship in order to fulfill their duties.

Yes, that's funny. I mean, he was with the EAF and then switch over to Orb. Well, it wasn't like he was with the EAF by choice. But Kira was from Orb, is a citizen of Orb, and now a ranking officer of Orb. Not to mention that his sister is ruler of Orb. The guy is completely Orb.
So, if Lacus do take up the responsibility to join the coucil in ZAFT, where does that put Kira? I highly doubt Kira is one to switch from one military clique to the next. He's no Athrun. And I think no matter where Kira is placed, his heart belongs with Orb. Imagine if another war were to break out. That would be a truly hard decision for Kira to make.

If Kira and Lacus were to break up, it would probably for military reasons or warfare. I mean, I cannot honestly imagine them breaking up because they had a fight or hate each other. That would be impossible. What would probably happen, as Mishu and Angel already mentioned a bit, would be that Kira would remain in Orb, and Lacus would become Chairperson of the PLANTS. Guess what happens next? The EAF would probably declare war against ZAFT (again), and that forces Orb and the PLANTS to choose alliances. That might cause them to drift apart, probably, or they could reform the Triple Ship Alliance =3 Otherwise that, I suppose they might get back together in the end. ^^" So it isn't a perminant breakup.
