A Fatal Fairytale
Ah, yeah, I see what you meant. The Gamecube has online abilities? This is the first time I've heard anything about it. Out of curiosity, what are the two games?

It would definitely be awesome for that to happen, especially since they're re-realeasing all of those old games. It could be a blast to play those games with so may different people instead of just your childhood friends.

Pudgy? Her curves are just softer than those stick girls you see everywhere. :<

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, and Phantasy Star Online III. Mario Kart Double Dash also makes use of the adapter to link up two Gamecubes and get a 16 player race going.

My thoughts exactly. I'd really love to play those games on the net, especially since with a decent connection most of those games take little to no actual memory to run on a system like that, and it would make the online play fairly smooth if done properly.

I'd really love to get into 3 player Secret of Mana again, personally.

And yeah, I really didn't give it any thought until she mentioned that. I really didn't see her as pudgy in the least. But oh well, I guess that shows different views.

I vaguely recall reading about those games, considering buying them having played the 32-bit Phantasy Star games, and deciding not to because of the online part. (I somehow got the idea that they were only playable online or soemthing.) Oh man, we could've had Double Dash wars! Next time I'm doing my research.

It would be nice for those people who either gave away or sold their systems, and no longer have access to those games except for emulators and such. The Zelda: Collector's Edition took up barely any space on my memory card. Well, asides from Majora's Mask and Ocarina, not sure which, but one of those took 22 blocks.

Another game I've never gotten my mitts on. Bah.

PSO is a lot different than the older ones. It shares some traits, obviously, but it's not a traditional RPG in any sense. I still got a kick out of it though.

Also took me awhile to learn, but it is also playable offline too. But it's really made for online play. I still liked playing it offline though. The adapter cost extra though, so in the end it really wasn't worth it.

And yeah, a lot of these games go for $60 or more pretty easily, despite their availablity. They're usually marked as rare collection items. I know I'd certainly like to have access to them again on an actual system. As much as I like emulators so I can save on the fly, I really do like sitting somewhere more comfortable and holding an actual controller.

And yeah, you should really give it a chance if it's available. Seiken Densetsu is a really good series.

Wolffy, you forgot Kirby's Air Ride, which also had online multi. We just don't talk about it because it was ******** HORRIBLE.

That game was never made.

I don't care if you can buy it, that game is dead to me.

I agree with Wolfy's first post.

I'm in the market for a Wii (tee-hee) over the Ps3 and 360 simply because to me it's all "been there, done that" and it's time for something new. As of now they're just the same games with new FMVs and prettier graphics. I played the Gran Turismo series since the PSOne and after a while I couldn't help myself from yawning. If I wanted - serious - gaming with ungodly realistic graphics (Crysis for the PC, anyone?), I'd simply go out and build another gaming PC which today would have the capabilities and power of a Playstation 12. In fact, I play video games to relax and escape realism for a bit and have nothing but fun. If I wanted to pay that much just have to deal with the same reality, I'd subscribe to every newspaper I can find and keep reading up on Iraq.

I don't think games are supposed to be real or serious in a "real life" sense. Why else would we play video games if not to have some fun and unwind in a fantasy world for a while? Sony and Microsoft have good games, and I wouldn't mind playing them, I will admit. But I won't spend that much money on video games just to play Grand Theft Auto 12 and all it's clones every single time. No two Mario or Zelda games are alike for a reason. Imagination, gameplay, entertainment and innovation are what I go for.

My two cents on why I'm in the market for a Wii.

Honestly at this point if I wanted a more real racing game, I'm gonna just go 90 on I-93.

Surround sound customizable soundtrack, realistic car sounds, vibrations, and even a specially designed seat that makes it feel like you are in motion when you accelerate, brake, or turn.
Only downside is no reset button. So try to play more like "Initial D" and less like "Burnout Revenge"

And I'm agreeing with Kahz on the fantasy, but that's why I've stayed with PS2 so long. Final Fantasy and RPGs help relax me and think, but the controller's kind of played out. I don't WANT to spend years mastering the guitar, I want to play Guitar Hero. I don't want to go clubbing, I want to step on multicolored arrows. I don't want to pee on the floor, I want to let a computer image of me do that, and then slowly let him die because I decided to reenact Silent Hill and made a wall appear over the door he just came in through.
Nintendo has Smash Bros., Mario Party, Warioware, Harvest Moon, and a few sports titles I enjoy. PS2 has Guitar Hero, DDR, Katamari, Taiko, and RPGs

I just like PS2's fantasy more.

See, I think Snake is cool. As does everyone else.

I may argue that he is too serious to belong in SSB, because, well, he does. I do NOT want to see any real fighter characters in there (Much love to Akuma and Sub Zero, but back off) because that ruins the playful feel of the game.
However, I'm totally open to out of Nintendo characters, as they were stretching their limits with Melee (Roy, Marth, Game and Watch, Ice Climbers, and 2 more pokemon), and it expands it.
So as much as I'm neutral on Snake (although in the demo movie I get chills at his entrance, I'm a geek, I know)

The out of Nintendo market opens up a lot more characters, so that Nintendo doesn't have to start getting lame. A few old school, sure. But I'd much rather see Pac Man vs Mario vs Sonic vs Pikachu than anything else.
Oh I like Snake don't get me wrong.. he's a little old in the newest game though. XD I'm glad they went with his younger self instead of the 80 year old model of him. It just urks me a little to see him in a game that I see as nintendo only. XP I know it's probably stupid, but I am weird. :B I know they reached way down in thier pants to pull out Mr. Game and Watch out of thier butts, but it was really neat that he was in there because I would have never imagined it. XD

IF they ever did put fighter people from Dead of Alive or Guilty Gear or something wild I'd be pretty mad. XD I kinda like how it's all characters that would never really be in a fighting game in the first place. Except for maybe an RPG style of fighting... I mean 2D fighting. XD Although it's not very 2D in the graphics department. After I think about it being that way... that Snake is an oddball for this type of game.. it doesn't seem as bad. ... AS bad. XDD I still think it's pretty crazy. XD

After seeing the controller for the (at the time) Revolution, I thought this was Nintendo's last hurrah. Then when i heard they changed the name to Wii (wtf mate) I thought they put the final nail in the coffin. But now that I've seen all the E3 stuff... Seems like Nintendo is regaining momentum. And Snake is SB... wow xd With the giant pricetag, Sony could lose a lot of ground. Nothing they showed really made my jaw drop (other than the price of course). Plus, Sony has a crappy rep about their release products breaking right after the warrenty expires. I knew 3 people who bought a PS2 when it came out, and all three died right after the expiration. A lot of people will have a hard time shelling out that much money with those expectations. As for the games, nothing PS3 really wowed me. If anything, it seems like the companies developing for it are doing what everyone used to make fun of Nintendo for doing; dragging out a tired old franchise to its death.

As weird as it is, I'm most excited over two PSP games due out in the winter: Silent Hill Origins and Metal Gear Portable Ops.

The Silent Hill one has incredible graphics and even though you apparently play as some random trucker, the game looks damn good. From what I can tell, it's all in first person. We'll see how that goes.

And MG PO, well, it's a canonical PSP Metal Gear. That's good enough for me.

And, uh... yeah. Pretty excited about Halo 3. I don't care what people will say, I love it. redface

Yeah, I know. And Sony is just begging people to hate them. Kutaragi is a frigging psycho. "You must prove your loyalty to Sony by paying us six hundred dollars for a console that will almost certainly get Disc Read Errors three weeks past the purchase date. Be thankful that we are merciful and only ask of you your money and not the blood of your firstborn children."

I hate it, but I get more and more excited for the Wii the more I hear about it.

Waiting sucks, but it sounds like it'll have interesting games.

There's only one game that I care about for the Wii and it might be enough to get me to buy the system, as sad as that is.

Metroid Prime 3. God, I love the Prime games. I have wonderful nostalgic Christmas memories related to both the previous installments, and I'd like very much to feel that again with the third.
