He just could not seem to get a decent hit as he grazed it yet again, barely drawing blood before it fled into a slightly larger pipe, finally giving Nuru elbow room.

He crept a little slower and more carefully this time, finally getting close enough to dig a dagger in deep. The shrieks could be heard echoing throughout the sewers.

The rat turned and pulled the dagger right out of Nuru's hand and continued running down the pipe.

Nuru chased after it, having to sniff through the disgusting muck and sewage for the trail of blood. He found it just after the pipe opened up in another section of tunnel, laying on it's side and hissing defensively at his presence.

Nuru hopped down from the pipe onto the ground. His pulse pounding in his ears. His quarry wounded and barely able to walk anymore. At this point it went beyond mercy. He had none. This creature dragged him through all kinds of sewage. He wasn't in it to be nice at this point.
The hissing grew louder as the rat started to drag itself around and around in circles. He reached out, grasping the handle sticking out of the rat and firmly tugging down, eliciting another shriek out of the vermin before taking the second dagger and removing the tail. The creature died shortly after and Nuru now had three tails in his possession.

A low rumble filled the gruesome sewer and something moved in the dark that was larger than the rats Nuru had been grappling with. There was a raw ripple of energy which followed and confirmed any doubts the other Host might have had that it was something other than a rat.
A huge tiger-like natural form stepped out, unminding of the mud and disgusting residue, huge massively taloned and spurred paws splaying its weight. Horns curled up wicked from its feline skull and all across its body feathers mingled with fur, a set of rooster coloured wings folded loose on its back. It was scarred and lethal looking and it smiled in a way that showed a set of fangs. Everything about it was massive and dangerous. The voice was of course, very familiar.
"You did pretty ******** good." it growled. "You'll get your pay." And the grin broadened.
"And while we are at it, how would you like to help out someone who can help you?"

Nuru stepped back, struggling to take the host in. He was certainly impressed, even if his own features were heavily muddled in the murky darkness.
"Mmm?" He sounded curious as he approached the voice. The familiarity, at least, of comfort, despite the massive size and apparent power controlled by the creature that stood before him. "Whatchu got on ya min?"

Rep moved and it became apparent as he did so that rather than stripes across his body he had what appeared to be raw and gaping wounds following the shapes of striping across his body, bleeding and generally making a mess as he all but oozed SIN from every pore. He had looked subtler once, an organic and plain looking creature, but the energies had been so deeply infused into him that they had done their work well.
'There are plenty of ******** rats in hell." he rumbled, low and thoughtful. "Just so happens it looks like there's going to be a scramble for power on the horizon, with Gluttony and those other b*****d vying for a slice of the pie. They want to ******** over Earth. I don't. I like Earth, I like purgatory, I like the status quo. I'm gonna keep it that way, if you feel like helping me out any. But double cross me and I'll ******** murder you, so choose wisely before you answer me."

"Ah tink ah need moah information before ah can agree wit' anythin'. Like what exactleh ya askin' me tah do hea'." Rep was definitely powerful and monstrous both in appearance as presence. Part of him was sure he had no real choice in what was being asked of him. But his word was more important to him than that.
He wasn't keen to make promises he couldn't keep and he was already working his tail off to keep one.

I want you to look out for the humans. Sure we are demons and they are our food supply and s**t but they are also our food supply and we need to look out for them. Gluttony wants to kill them all, which isnae awright." He flicked his tail through the sludge, still baring his teeth in a grin.
"I wanted you down here to talk to you mostly. Out of earshot of the arseholes who might disagree with this. If you aren't with me though you are against me and if you turn out to be one of those pricks who wants to reset everything or to completely go to war with heaven, our little ******** friendship ends right here and you forget you heard anything."
"Dig?"

Nuru shifted from foot to foot apprehensively, uncomfortable and very aware such deals are not to be taken lightly. "Ah obviosleh like humans. Et would be borin wit'out dem. Ah agree wit whatcha sayin' an all but ah ain so sure how much ah can trust ya if ahm tah be hones. What ya expect me tah do if ah say yah. Ah ain killin or hurtin noboddeh unless et foa a reason ah agree wit."
His expression softened, "mah promises are importan to meh."

“Stubborn.” Rep growled. “Digging in your heels. It wouldnae have hurt you to pledge, but I can already see there are lines you’ve drawn that won’t ******** budge. That’s no good to me. I can’t afford someone with “morals” hellish or otherwise. You can help me by keeping me updated on what sort of solicitations you get from other demons, but the rewards will be far less than if you had helped me properly.
He moved his weight from one enormous paw to the other with a squelch of thick sediment. “But I know no everyone can be loyal, especially demons, loyal to only themselves.” He’d watched the slightly dopey demon for some time and been hopeful that he was the follower sort of demon rather than the heroic type, but he would be fine on his own, and no doubt draw his own share of trouble.
“Good though, that you like humans, I cannae stand the near-sighted arseholes who think that it all should be ******** erased. ” Often, the individuals who thought that were also of the opinion that all Nephilim should be erased from existence too. Anything that wasn’t purebred host was to be looked down upon. Rep didn’t agree obviously.

"That," Nuru's posture clearly relaxed. "Ah can do dat. Even if ets less moneh." He wasn't sure much about what it meant to be a demon, he just knew what it meant to be Nuru and had no intentions of ever changing fully what that was.
He stretched his arms and shoulders while glancing around and then back at Rep curiously. "Ah don undahstand animositeh foa da humans. So full of life, vices, an blessins. So unpredictables. So enjoyable."
He shrugged lightly, "Dey are perfectleh flawed."

Rep snorted. It would do. He would need to find reliable underlings elsewhere, and it was going to be tough given how innately untrustworthy most demons actually were. In the meantime he'd make use of Nuru's utility to get a little more information on what the other guys were up to and what way the wind was blowing from an ambition perspective.
"It's stupidity is what it is." he growled. "They want to starve because they can't handle that another species was created that was different from them. They'd sooner ******** themselves over than deal with what we have to deal with. I'm glad you at least agree."
His shape wobbled and reformed as the red-haired figure he'd met upstairs. "Your money will be given to you."
