Many Holidays have turned in to big shopping comercial fest and have lost much of there meaning....business use them to make extra sales.....and it is only getting worst....the only thing that you can control is how you look at the holidays
I agree that everyone's commercialized the holidays, but there are things we can do to change this. If people would take a look at the holiday, as you said is the only thing we can control, and realize that something's wrong with the way the media uses it to make money, then we have the power to stop that. Stop buying the easter candies and the halloween costumes, and the christmas sweatshirts that depict santa snowbording and the christ child in sunglasses giving the thumbs up, and the like, the media might just realize that these things aren't selling anymore. Maybe they'll start to understand that there's a meaning to holidays, that they're not just another work day, another day to profit, but a day to celebrate and to worship the events of the past and the dieties that we choose, not the almighty dollar.
